The Worship Leader assists the Worship Pastor in cultivating a life-giving, passionate, and skillful culture of worship at Summit Church (“Summit”) through the spiritual and musical leadership of its various worship teams.

This is a full-time position, up to but not exceeding 40 hours per week. The typical schedule will be flexible but will generally be as follows:

• Sunday: 6:30 AM - 12:30 PM

• Monday: 10 AM - 5 PM

• Tuesday: 10 AM - 5 PM, 6:30 PM - 9:30 PM

• Wednesday: 10 AM - 5 PM

• Thursday: 10 AM - 5 PM

• 5 additional hours of flex time

• Fridays and Saturdays off, except during special events

The 5 hours of flex time will provide flexibility to meet the varying demands of Generational Ministries, supporting ministry events, volunteer engagement, rehearsals, and responsibilities that extend beyond regular office hours.

• Lead worship for the various services and events of Summit Church as scheduled by the Worship Pastor. This includes the various ministries of the church (i.e., youth, women’s / men’s, college, etc.).

• Assist in the care and pastoring of Summit Worship Team, including:

  • Regular check-ins

  • Prayer and encouragement

  • Conflict resolution

  • Support during crisis

  • Referral to internal and/or external resources as needed

• Manage team member engagement through attendance tracking, reporting, and workflow automation in Planning Center Services and Planning Center People.

• Assist in the training and coordination of the Summit Worship Team.

• Assist the Worship Pastor with creative department planning and implementation of worship services, projects, and special events.

• Assist in achieving department goals as set by the Worship Pastor and Creative Director.

• Assist in the care and pastoring of the Summit Worship Team.

• Assist in scheduling bands for weekend services and special events.

• Assist in the recruiting, onboarding, development, and retention of the worship team.

• Assist in planning worship sets and uploading practice resources to Planning Center.

• Create sets in Ableton Live and/or Playback Premium for weekend and generational services.

• Create ProPresenter Presentations for weekend and generational services.

• Set MIDI cues and utilize SMPTE Timecode in Ableton Live / Playback Premium for ProPresenter slide automation and video/lighting sync.

• Lead, recruit, develop, and train worship teams in generational ministries.

• Provide pastoral care for generational worship teams.

• Assist the Worship Pastor with writing, recording, and producing original music.

• Maintain communication with all Summit Worship team members.

• Foster a sense of community and build relationships within the team.

• Other duties as assigned by the Worship Pastor.

Required

• Minimum of 4 years leading worship w/ vocal and band experience in a local church.

• Associate’s Degree or Certification in Worship Ministry.

• Must be eligible to work in the U.S.

• Must be a member of Summit Church and sign the Lifestyle and Culture Agreement.

Preferred

• Experience using DAW software for live performances and recording.

• Experience using ProPresenter software.

• Experience using MIDI for live performance and cross-device communication.

• Experience leading and coordinating a large team of volunteers in worship ministry.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Ministry with a focus in worship.
