Vice President Of Marketing
EmpowerHome Team Services • Chantilly, VA, US

Are you a full-stack marketer who knows the difference between marketing that looks good and marketing that gets results?
EmpowerHome is looking for a VP of Marketing who can take ownership of the entire marketing function, from strategy and lead generation to messaging, campaigns, analytics, vendors, systems, and team leadership.
This is not a role for someone who has spent their career owning just one piece of marketing inside a large organization.
We’re looking for someone who has worn a lot of hats. Someone who has been responsible for figuring out what to market, who to market to, what offer to make, how to get people to raise their hands, how to measure the results, and what to do next.
You might have led marketing for a smaller company, fitness company, home services organization, real estate company, or another lead-driven business where you had to be both the strategist and the person who could roll up your sleeves and make things happen.
And there’s one thing we want to be especially clear about:
We believe marketing should generate measurable action.
EmpowerHome is heavily focused on direct-response marketing. We care about the offer, the message, the audience, the call to action, the response, and ultimately the business result.
Sometimes the most effective marketing isn't the prettiest.
In fact, one of our best non-met lead-generation strategies is famously not the most beautiful piece of marketing you'll ever see. But it works because it gives people enough value to raise their hand.
If your first instinct is to ask, “How many qualified leads did this generate?” rather than simply, “Does this look good?”, you may be exactly who we're looking for.
Compensation & Benefits
Salary Range: $100,000–$150,000 based on experience and demonstrated results
Performance-based incentive compensation tied to clearly defined marketing and business outcomes
Comprehensive health and wellness benefits
401(k) and company-sponsored retirement benefits
Paid time off and company holidays
Professional development and leadership-growth opportunities
The opportunity to help shape the future of a nationally growing, mission-driven organization
What You'll Own
As VP of Marketing, you will own the strategy, execution, performance, and evolution of EmpowerHome's marketing function.
Marketing Strategy & Growth
Develop and lead the overall marketing strategy in alignment with EmpowerHome's growth goals and mission.
Turn company goals into clear marketing initiatives, campaigns, budgets, timelines, and measurable outcomes.
Build annual, quarterly, and monthly marketing plans and establish clear priorities for the department.
Evaluate what's currently working, protect successful initiatives, improve underperforming ones, and identify new opportunities.
Stay close to market trends, consumer behavior, competitors, and emerging opportunities.
Lead Generation & Direct Response
Lead strategies that generate qualified seller, buyer, recruiting, referral, and database opportunities.
Own and continuously improve the systems and campaigns responsible for generating leads.
Develop compelling offers, headlines, calls to action, landing pages, emails, direct mail, digital campaigns, and other lead-generation initiatives.
Apply direct-response principles to marketing decisions rather than creating content simply to create activity.
Test and refine messaging, offers, audiences, and campaigns based on measurable response.
Find new ways to create value that motivates consumers and candidates to raise their hands.
Marketing Analytics & Performance
Track and analyze lead volume, lead quality, cost per lead, cost per opportunity, appointments, campaign response, conversion trends, and marketing ROI.
Use data to determine whether a problem is related to lead volume, lead quality, messaging, the offer, marketing execution, follow-up, or sales conversion.
Identify underperforming initiatives and make clear recommendations to improve, reposition, scale back, or discontinue them.
Partner closely with sales, inside sales, operations, and executive leadership to understand what happens to marketing-generated opportunities after they are delivered.
Make decisions based on facts and trends rather than assumptions.
Messaging, Content & Campaigns
Develop messaging frameworks that clearly communicate why consumers and candidates should care.
Establish campaign themes, offers, calls to action, content priorities, and execution standards.
Lead content strategy across consumer, recruiting, database, brand, and internal marketing.
Ensure marketing content supports a business objective and is designed to drive action.
Maintain brand consistency while keeping the department fast, practical, and execution-focused.
Marketing Operations & Execution
Take campaigns from concept through launch, measurement, and optimization.
Build systems and processes that help the marketing team move quickly without sacrificing quality.
Establish clear owners, timelines, deliverables, and accountability.
Reduce unnecessary bottlenecks, revisions, and approval delays.
Create repeatable systems for recurring marketing initiatives while leaving room for creativity and experimentation.
Prioritize work based on business impact, not simply whoever asks first.
Vendors, Budget & Resources
Lead relationships with agencies, consultants, technology partners, media partners, and other marketing vendors.
Set clear expectations and hold outside partners accountable to deliverables and results.
Evaluate whether marketing investments and vendors are producing sufficient value.
Oversee the marketing budget and allocate resources toward the highest-impact opportunities.
Team Leadership
Lead, coach, and develop EmpowerHome's marketing team.
Create clarity around roles, responsibilities, priorities, standards, and expectations.
Develop team members into stronger marketers and future leaders.
Build a department that thinks proactively, solves problems, and takes ownership.
Foster direct communication, healthy debate, creativity, accountability, and continuous improvement.
The Marketer We're Looking For
We're especially interested in someone who:
Has owned the full marketing function for a business rather than specializing in only one marketing channel.
Has experience working in a small or growth-focused environment where you had to wear multiple hats.
Has successfully generated measurable leads and business opportunities through marketing.
Understands direct-response marketing, offer development, consumer psychology, and conversion-focused messaging.
Can look at a campaign and ask, “Did it work?” and then dig into the numbers to understand why.
Is equally comfortable developing a strategy, analyzing a spreadsheet, reviewing creative, writing an offer, launching a campaign, and coaching a team.
Knows that marketing is more than branding, social media, content calendars, and making things look pretty.
Can protect a marketing initiative that is producing results, even if it's not the most glamorous thing in the marketing department.
Is willing to challenge assumptions and make decisions without needing perfect information.
Moves quickly and doesn't let perfection, excessive consensus, or unnecessary approvals get in the way of execution.
Is a strong people leader who knows how to give direct feedback, create accountability, and develop others.
Can work cross-functionally with sales and operations while understanding that marketing owns the generation and quality of opportunities, not the sales conversion itself.
You May Be a Great Fit If...
You've been the marketing leader at a smaller company and your job description was essentially:
“Figure out how we're going to get more customers.”
You may have managed the website, email, CRM, social media, advertising, direct mail, content, events, vendors, analytics, offers, campaigns, and a team.
Maybe you didn't have a giant department or a different specialist for every channel. You were the person who figured it out.
That's the experience we're looking for.
Experience in real estate, home services, consumer services, fitness, multi-location businesses, or other lead-driven organizations is a plus, but we're more interested in what you've actually built and produced than the industry on your résumé.
Experience with marketing automation, CRM systems, AI, digital advertising, database marketing, direct mail, content marketing, and emerging search platforms is also strongly preferred.
You'll know you're succeeding when:
EmpowerHome is consistently generating more qualified opportunities.
Existing lead-generation initiatives continue to perform and improve.
Marketing investments are clearly connected to measurable business outcomes.
Campaigns have stronger offers, clearer messaging, and stronger calls to action.
The team knows what it owns and can execute without unnecessary escalation.
Marketing moves from idea to launch faster.
Vendors are accountable for results.
Leadership has clear visibility into what's working, what's not, and why.
Marketing operates proactively rather than simply responding to requests.
EmpowerHome continues to gain market share, attract great talent, and serve more families.
Compensation
$100,000–$150,000
