Our urgent care veterinary hospital is seeking a compassionate, dependable, and motivated Veterinary Technician Assistant to join our dedicated team. In this fast-paced environment, every day brings new challenges and opportunities to provide exceptional care to pets experiencing unexpected illnesses and injuries. The Veterinary Technician Assistant plays a vital role in supporting our veterinarians and veterinary technicians by assisting with patient care, maintaining a clean and efficient treatment environment, assisting with customer service, and ensuring pets and their families receive compassionate support during stressful situations.

• Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians with urgent patient care, treatments, diagnostics, and procedures
• Assist our Customer Service Representative by answering phone calls and checking in patients
• Safely handle and restrain pets of various sizes and temperaments, including fearful or painful animals
• Support diagnostic procedures including laboratory sample collection, radiology preparation, and in-house testing
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of treatment areas, kennels, and medical equipment following hospital protocols
• Assist with stocking supplies, preparing medications under supervision, and maintaining inventory
• Help support pet owners with empathy and professionalism during emotionally challenging situations
• Respond efficiently and calmly during high-volume periods and emergency situations

• Previous experience in a veterinary hospital, emergency/urgent care setting, animal shelter, or animal care facility preferred
• Knowledge of animal behavior, safe handling, and restraint techniques preferred
• Ability to remain calm, focused, and compassionate in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
• Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset
• Ability to prioritize tasks and adapt quickly as patient needs change
• Ability to stand for long periods, bend, lift, and restrain animals weighing up to 50 pounds or more with assistance
• Willingness to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
• High school diploma or equivalent required
