What You’ll Do:

You will manage a trust litigation, probate, estate planning, and trust administration caseload under the guidance of the firm's partners and will progressively assume more responsibility as you become accustomed to our team's practice areas, goals, and strategies.

Responsibilities include:

  • Drafting and responding to written discovery

  • Taking and defending depositions (parties, witnesses, experts)

  • Drafting law and motion, including meet & confer letters and arguing motions in court

  • Court appearances

  • Preparing cases for mediation

  • Direct client communication to provide updates

  • Trial preparation and second-chair trial opportunities

  • Supervise and direct paralegals and legal support staff

  • Prepare estate plans and administer those for Trustees and Administrators

  • Other litigation and other assignments as needed

  • Track deadlines for timely preparation and filing

Thinking, strategizing, and advocating for clients' positions professionally, with civility

  • Experience in drafting and responding to written discovery with precision and clarity

  • Ability to take and defend depositions, showcasing strong communication and analytical skills

  • Proven track record of drafting law and motion documents, including meet-and-confer letters, and effectively arguing motions in court

  • Comfortable with court appearances, demonstrating professionalism and confidence

  • Skilled in preparing cases for mediation, ensuring thoroughness and strategic planning

  • Direct client communication experience, providing timely updates and fostering trust

  • Experience in trial preparation and second-chairing trials, contributing to successful outcomes in litigation cases

Compensation

$130,500 - $180,000 based upon experience

A Torrance office, Wickers, Wickers & Admans LLP proudly serves individuals and families throughout the South Bay, Los Angeles, and Orange County, providing counsel in estate planning, probate administration, and trust and estate litigation. We help clients protect family wealth, honor loved ones’ wishes, and resolve inheritance disputes—often working proactively in an effort to prevent conflict before it arises.
