Trusts & Estates Attorney – 3+ Years Experience

Lulich & Attorneys, P.A.

Indian River County, Florida | Sebastian & Vero Beach Full-Time | In-Person

About the Opportunity

Lulich & Attorneys, P.A. is seeking an experienced Trusts & Estates Attorney to join our growing Estate Planning, Probate, and Trust Administration practice.

Our firm helps hundreds of families each year protect their assets, plan for the future, administer estates and trusts, and navigate some of the most important decisions they will ever make.

We are looking for an attorney who combines strong technical knowledge with the ability to sit across the table from a client, listen carefully, explain complicated concepts clearly, and provide practical recommendations.

The attorney joining our team will have the opportunity to manage their own matters while working with an experienced estate planning and probate team. As the department continues to grow, there will also be meaningful opportunities for professional advancement and leadership.

The Right Person

Estate planning is a highly personal area of law. Technical knowledge matters, but so does the ability to establish trust with a client.

The right attorney will be someone who enjoys meeting with clients, asking good questions, understanding what actually matters to them, and turning those objectives into a well-designed estate plan.

We are looking for someone who takes ownership of their matters and wants to help us continue building an exceptional Trusts & Estates practice.

Our Culture Values:

  • Hard work and accountability

  • Collaboration

  • Continuous improvement

  • Dependability

  • Humility

  • Community involvement

  • Exceptional client service

We are a performance-driven firm, but we also believe strongly in developing our people and creating opportunities for team members who want to grow.

The Trusts & Estates Attorney will:

  • Counsel individuals and families regarding estate planning, asset protection, incapacity planning, and wealth-transfer objectives.

  • Design and prepare comprehensive estate plans.

  • Draft wills, revocable living trusts, powers of attorney, health care documents, living wills, and related estate-planning instruments.

  • Advise clients regarding trust structures and appropriate estate-planning strategies.

  • Review existing estate plans and recommend updates based upon changes in a client's family, assets, objectives, or applicable law.

  • Counsel trustees, personal representatives, beneficiaries, and family members regarding probate and trust administration.

  • Handle formal and summary probate administrations.

  • Prepare and review petitions, notices, inventories, accountings, waivers, proposed orders, and other probate and trust-administration documents.

  • Guide fiduciaries through their legal obligations and administration responsibilities.

  • Attend hearings and communicate with courts, beneficiaries, financial institutions, CPAs, and other professionals when necessary.

  • Work closely with the firm's paralegals and legal assistants to efficiently move matters from initial consultation through completion.

  • Maintain regular and proactive communication with clients.

  • Review work product and ensure files meet the firm's quality and service standards.

  • Develop relationships with financial advisors, CPAs, real estate professionals, and other potential referral partners.

  • Participate in seminars, workshops, educational programs, and other business-development initiatives.

  • Help develop and improve systems and processes as the Estate Planning and Probate department continues to expand.

Candidates should have:

  • At least 3 years of relevant legal experience.

  • Active membership in good standing with The Florida Bar.

  • Experience in estate planning, probate, trust administration, or a closely related practice area.

  • Strong drafting, analytical, and legal research skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • The ability to explain sophisticated legal concepts in language clients can easily understand.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • The ability to independently manage matters, deadlines, and client relationships.

  • A professional, compassionate, and responsive approach when working with families, elderly clients, fiduciaries, beneficiaries, and other professionals.

  • Experience with advanced estate planning, irrevocable trusts, tax-sensitive planning, high-net-worth clients, or sophisticated trust structures is a plus.
