As a legal assistant, you will empower our attorneys and paralegals in delivering exceptional service to clients. You'll be at the heart of our operations, managing communications, scheduling, and document preparation in the Probate and Trust litigation arena. Your role will be pivotal in ensuring our legal team meets deadlines and maintains the high standards clients expect.
Your experience or interest in Trust Administration and Probate/Trust Litigation will be a significant asset to our team. - Assist with the creation of various litigation documents, including pleadings, motions, subpoenas, affidavits, contracts, and briefs for case preparation, and proofread documents a needed
- Conduct legal research, when necessary, with guidance from attorneys and paralegals
- Arrange travel, schedule meetings and appointments for the team, such as depositions, and coordinate with outside vendors for events
- Manage office correspondence and administrative tasks such as answering phone calls, communicating with opposing attorney offices, taking dictation, responding to emails, and reminding the team of upcoming deadlines
- Undertake other duties as needed to ensure the firm operates efficiently
- Experience in Trust and Probate Litigation, with a strong understanding of legal procedures and documentation.
- Ability to draft, proofread, and manage legal documents such as pleadings, motions, and subpoenas with precision.
- Proven track record of effectively managing schedules, appointments, and travel arrangements for legal teams.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal software, ensuring seamless document management and communication.
- Strong organizational skills to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to liaise with clients, attorneys, and external vendors.
- Ability to conduct thorough legal research under the guidance of attorneys and paralegals, enhancing case preparation and strategy development.
- Comfortable working with all Microsoft Office products
- Must be able to prioritize tasks with demanding deadlines and work in a fast-paced environment
- Candidates must have worked with legal software, case management, and docketing programs
- Applicants must have excellent communication skills and organizational skills
Compensation
$27 - $32 hourly
