Test Prep Tutor (1-on-1 tutoring, hourly)

JOB SUMMARY

Denver Test Prep (www.denvertestprep.com) is currently hiring private test prep tutors for the standardized tests listed below. Tutors must be available to work with students in person, at homes, offices, libraries, etc., in the Denver/Boulder area. Test Prep tutors for DTP go through a paid training program and need to score a top SAT score to enter our training program.

DTP tutors should be available for tutoring three to four days a week, with a minimum of 5 hours per week.

COMPENSATION

The starting rate of pay is $50/hour for tutoring, plus an additional $20/hour for time spent driving to and from tutoring sessions.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Deliver high-quality, 1-on-1 test prep instruction using DTP's proven curriculum and strategies.

• Complete DTP’s paid training program, which includes earning a top score on a full-length practice test, before working with test prep students.

• Develop customized lesson plans based on diagnostic and practice test results, and adjust instruction as students progress.

• Teach both content and test-taking strategy, including pacing, time management, and building test-day confidence.

• Maintain clear and professional communication with families and DTP leadership, including regular updates on student progress.

• Track and document practice test scores, session notes, and key milestones to keep students on track toward their score goals.

QUALIFICATIONS AND MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• Honors graduate of a 4-year college or university

• Top 2% standardized test scores for the tests you plan to teach

• 2+ years of teaching or tutoring experience

• Comfortable working in students’ homes and other community settings.

• Background check required as a condition of employment

• Reliable car to get to tutoring sessions not located near public transit
