We are looking for a Talent Acquisition Specialist who sees recruiting as more than filling an opening. You know how to start a conversation, recognize potential, and connect dependable people with opportunities where they can succeed.

AFS has approximately 250 employees across three California offices, serving customers through maintenance, restoration, and construction. As we grow, your ability to build relationships and turn outreach into strong hires will directly influence the teams delivering our work.

Reporting to the HR Manager, you will partner with branch leaders and hiring managers to guide recruiting from the initial hiring request through offer acceptance and a complete onboarding handoff to HR. You will bring urgency, organization, and a personal touch to a process that matters to every candidate and every team we build.

What You Will Do

• Partner with hiring managers to understand staffing needs, job requirements, and hiring priorities across all four offices.

• Write and maintain clear, engaging job postings on LinkedIn, Wizehire, Indeed, and other recruiting platforms.

• Actively source candidates through job boards, referrals, community organizations, trade schools, and direct outreach.

• Recruit for positions such as project managers, project coordinators, carpenters, maintenance technicians, Accounting, water restoration technicians, painters, field supervisors, and other positions.

• Review applications and conduct phone and/or video interviews to assess experience, availability, compensation expectations, and alignment with the role.

• Coordinate interviews, gather manager feedback, and follow up promptly with candidates.

• Support hiring managers in making timely, informed selection decisions.

• Coordinate approved offers and communicate next steps to selected candidates.

• Provide HR with accurate new hire information and a complete onboarding handoff.

• Maintain current candidate records in our applicant tracking system.

• Track recruiting activity, time to fill, offer acceptance, and the effectiveness of sourcing channels.

• Identify hiring obstacles and recommend practical improvements.

What You Bring

• At least two years of recruiting or talent acquisition experience.

• Experience managing multiple openings and competing priorities.

• Strong interviewing, communication, and relationship-building skills.

• A proactive approach to finding candidates beyond incoming applications.

• Strong organization and consistent follow-through.

• Experience using applicant tracking systems and common office software.

• Sound judgment when handling confidential information.

• The ability to work independently while keeping HR and hiring managers informed.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience recruiting for construction, restoration, maintenance, skilled trades, or other field positions.

• Ability to communicate professionally in English and Spanish.

• Experience supporting hiring across multiple locations.

• Experience building referral networks and relationships with trade schools or community partners.
