Velocity Work is a boutique consultancy that helps small law firm owners build more profitable, sustainable businesses through better data, clearer strategy, and stronger accountability. We are a small, AI-native team. AI agents do most of our building, automation, and operational work.

Position Overview

We're looking for a part-time AI Systems Operator to own the day-to-day health and progress of our AI stack. You are not a traditional developer. AI coding agents (Claude Code, Codex) write and maintain our code. Your job is to keep that system running, move projects forward on a regular cadence, and take technical and operational load off the founder's plate.

Think of it as a technical project manager in an environment where AI agents do the coding. You'll check in during set windows each week, make sure everything is working, fix or escalate what isn't, and push AI initiatives forward reliably.

Terms

This is an independent contractor role. You provide your own equipment, handle your own taxes and insurance, and follow our confidentiality requirements. Hours are flexible within agreed weekly windows, with some overlap with US Mountain Time.

This position is remote in Brazil

• Agent framework health: Monitor, maintain, and tune our agent harnesses (Hermes, OpenClaw) so they stay reliable, cost-efficient, and useful

• Infrastructure checks: Watch deployments, logs, uptime, and usage across Railway, Vercel, and connected services. Catch problems before they become fires.

• AI-driven project management: Turn ideas and priorities into clear tickets and specs, direct coding agents to build them, review the output, test it, and ship it

• GitHub hygiene: Keep repos, docs, branches, and READMEs organized, so GitHub stays the real source of truth

• AI marketing engine: Help design and build an automated, AI-powered marketing system (content, distribution, follow-up) that runs mostly on its own

• Automations: Build and maintain workflows that remove manual work across the business

• Model and tool evaluation: Keep up with new models, tools, and techniques, and recommend practical upgrades

• Team enablement: Help the team get more out of ChatGPT and other AI tools for everyday work

Core Deliverables

• Weekly Systems Brief: Status of agents, apps, and infrastructure, what you shipped, what's blocked, and decisions needed from the founder

• Monthly Proof of Work Report: Projects shipped, problems prevented or fixed, cost and performance changes, and recommended next priorities

What We're Looking For

• Hands-on experience with LLMs, agent frameworks and AI coding agents (Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or similar)

• Comfortable reading code, logs, and error messages well enough to diagnose problems and direct an agent to fix them. Deep engineering skills are a plus but not required.

• Working knowledge of Git/GitHub, deployment platforms (Railway, Vercel, or similar), APIs, and environment variables

• Experience with automation tools and connecting systems through APIs

• Strong project management instincts: you break work into clear steps, follow through, and close loops without being chased

• Clear, direct written communication. You flag issues early and explain technical things simply.

• Sound independent judgment, and you know when to fix something yourself and when to escalate

• Bonus: experience with Hermes, OpenClaw, open-source model hosting, or AI-driven marketing systems
