The Southeast Supervising Associate is responsible for leading and overseeing the legal operations of our Southeast region, consisting of multiple attorneys, paralegals, and legal support professionals. This position ensures that all matters are handled effectively, ethically, and in accordance with firm policies, professional standards, and applicable laws. The Southeast Supervising Associate provides strategic legal guidance, monitors case progress and quality, develops team members, manages workloads, and promotes accountability throughout the region. The ideal candidate is an experienced attorney and strong leader who can balance legal strategy, operational oversight, employee development, and client service.

• Lead, supervise, and support attorneys, paralegals, and other legal professionals throughout the assigned region.

• Conduct regular individual and team meetings to review performance, workloads, case status, challenges, and priorities.

• Maintain overall responsibility for the quality, progress, and strategic direction of cases assigned within the region.

• Review case files, legal work, correspondence, pleadings, discovery, motions, settlement evaluations, and other work product as appropriate.

• Assist attorneys with complex legal issues, case strategy, negotiations, litigation planning, and trial preparation.

• Ensure attorneys and paralegals maintain accurate case records and complete required tasks and documentation.

• Monitor statutes of limitation (SOLs), court deadlines, discovery deadlines, internal deadlines, and other time-sensitive obligations.

• Ensure cases progress efficiently and do not experience unnecessary delays.

• Evaluate case risks, potential outcomes, settlement opportunities, resource needs, and escalation issues.

• Maintain an appropriate individual caseload when necessary while continuing to fulfill regional leadership responsibilities.

• Monitor regional performance through established metrics, reports, file reviews, and quality-control processes.

• Evaluate caseload distribution and reassign matters or resources when necessary to maintain appropriate workloads.

• Identify operational challenges and implement practical solutions that improve quality, efficiency, accountability, and client service.

• Ensure the region follows approved policies, procedures, workflows, and case-management standards.

• Ensure clients receive timely, professional, compassionate, and accurate communication.

• Assist with sensitive or complex client conversations when attorney or management involvement is appropriate.

• Promote a client-centered culture throughout the region.

• Ensure all legal services comply with applicable laws, court rules, ethical requirements, professional standards, and firm policies.

• Protect confidential, privileged, and sensitive information.

• Identify and address potential conflicts of interest, ethical concerns, compliance issues, and significant case risks.

• Escalate serious legal, ethical, personnel, or operational concerns to the appropriate member of firm leadership.

• Maintain an active law license and satisfy all continuing legal education and professional requirements.

• A bachelor’s degree and a J.D. degree are required.

• At least seven years of personal injury litigation or trial experience in wrongful death, medical malpractice, personal injury, or civil litigation practice areas.

• Prior experience supervising attorneys, paralegals, or legal teams.

• A good understanding of personal injury law/ tort law, medical terminology, wrongful death, civil and family law, and medical malpractice is desired.

• Computer proficiency required.

• Persuasive writing and verbal communication skills.
