Position Overview

The Store Associate plays a key role in supporting our customers and keeping daily store operations running smoothly. This is a hands-on position that includes customer service, sales assistance, product knowledge, inventory, and equipment support.

Rather than being limited to a traditional retail counter, our team members assist wherever needed. Responsibilities may include helping customers select products, answering phones, processing orders, operating the POS system, stocking inventory, loading materials, and learning to operate equipment.

Customer Service & Sales

• Help retail, contractor, and wholesale customers with product selection, questions, and purchases.
• Deliver friendly, professional service while creating a positive customer experience.
• Answer incoming calls and enter customer orders accurately.
• Use POS systems and other company software to process transactions and manage orders.
• Develop product knowledge to confidently recommend products that meet customer needs.
• Build positive customer relationships and recognize opportunities to suggest additional products or services.

Inventory & Store Responsibilities

• Receive incoming products and assist with stocking, organizing, and maintaining inventory.
• Help ensure inventory records are accurate and products are available when needed.
• Keep retail areas, displays, and workspaces clean, organized, and presentable.
• Prepare customer orders and products for pickup or delivery.
• Assist with day-to-day store operations and contribute ideas for improving efficiency.

Equipment & Teamwork

• Assist customers with loading bagged and bulk landscape products.
• Operate or become trained on forklifts, loaders, and other equipment as needed.
• Help move, stage, and organize products throughout the store and yard.
• Work with other departments and team members to support daily operations.
• Contribute to a team-oriented environment and help meet daily business objectives.

Schedule

• Full-time, year-round position.
• Store hours are Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM, and Saturday, 8:00 AM–3:00 PM.
• Saturday availability is part of the regular work schedule and will be determined by staffing and store coverage needs.
• Sunday availability is required only during peak seasonal periods.
• Work schedules are based on business needs, staffing requirements, and seasonal demand.

Qualifications

• Previous customer service experience in retail, sales, or a related setting. Background in landscaping, agriculture, or equipment is a plus, but not necessary.
• Comfortable using point-of-sale systems, computers, and other business software.
• Ability to keep the store clean, organized, and inviting for customers.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to answer questions and assist customers with product selection.
• Willingness to learn product information and apply that knowledge to help customers find the right solutions.
• Familiarity with inventory tasks such as receiving shipments, stocking shelves, and maintaining organized product displays.
• Ability to work effectively with coworkers and contribute to daily store operations and overall team success.

Work Environment

Renewed Outdoors is an active, hands-on workplace where teamwork and flexibility are important. Employees should be prepared for the following:

• Working indoors and outdoors depending on daily business needs.
• Performing duties in a variety of seasonal weather conditions.
• Working around landscape materials, equipment, dust, and outdoor inventory areas.
• Spending much of the workday standing, walking, and moving around.
• Frequently lifting and handling products weighing approximately 25–50 lbs.
