The role encompasses a variety of tasks related to offset printing press operations, including setup, job execution, and maintenance. Responsibilities involve comprehending print job specifications, selecting appropriate material stock, ink, and settings, and efficiently operating and caring for the machinery to produce diverse printed materials.

Additionally, duties include overseeing the printing process, meticulously reviewing output for quality and accuracy, and ensuring all prints align with client requirements. It is crucial to conduct thorough quality checks before and during production, generating sample copies for review when necessary. As jobs progress, the role entails inspecting equipment, performing basic repairs, and maintaining cleanliness for optimal performance. Moreover, this position may involve additional bindery and finishing tasks as needed to deliver a completed product to clients.

  • Reviews and verifies job specifications such as quantity, special instructions, size, color, stock, and correct ink color(s)

  • Examines plates for visual defects; makes corrections

  • Determines correct materials, ink, chemicals, and supplies

  • Retrieves correct paper and ink for the job; bends, lifts, transports paper to the press

  • Loads the press with paper

  • Adjusts feed guides, grippers, and chain or chute delivery for proper operation

  • Adjusts controls to regulate volume of ink

  • Proficiently and independently set up, operate, and maintain offset sheetfed press

  • Strong understanding of the mechanics and operation of offset printing equipment and proficiency in setting up, operating, and maintaining printing presses, including troubleshooting mechanical issues that may arise during the printing process

  • Precision and attention to detail are critical to ensure that printed materials meet quality standards and specifications. They must be able to accurately follow job orders, adjust settings as needed, and monitor print quality throughout the production run

  • Knowledge of color theory and color management techniques to ensure accurate and consistent color reproduction in printed materials

  • Strong problem-solving skills to quickly identify and address these issues to minimize downtime and maintain productivity

  • Proficient in Company software programs

Compensation

$21 - $25 per hour
