Posted 2 hours ago
Elmm Law Group is hiring a Settlement Coordinator to own the settlement and disbursement phase of our personal injury cases, from settlement agreement through lien resolution, client disbursement, and file closure.
This is a high-autonomy seat on a small team. You will run your own settlement pipeline, negotiate lien reductions directly, work alongside our bookkeeper on trust account compliance, and have real input on how we build the process. You are not one of thirty coordinators on a conveyor belt.
The right person has done this before at a personal injury firm, is precise with numbers and deadlines, and can explain a settlement statement to a client in language they understand. Compensation is $60,000 to $80,000 depending on experience, with paid time off, paid holidays, and health insurance.
You will own the settlement and disbursement phase of our injury cases, including:
Manage settlement files from agreement through final disbursement and file closure
Coordinate carrier settlement paperwork, review and track releases, and monitor funding status through payment
Track, negotiate, and resolve medical liens, including lien reductions where appropriate
Prepare settlement statements and disbursement packages for attorney review
Coordinate trust account disbursements and issue checks to clients, medical providers, lienholders, and referral partners
Partner with bookkeeping on trust account compliance and monthly reconciliations
Keep clients informed at every stage of settlement and disbursement
Maintain accurate notes, deadlines, and workflow in CASEpeer
Identify bottlenecks and improve settlement systems as caseload grows
What We're Looking For
Minimum 3 years of personal injury settlement/disbursement experience
Familiarity with lien negotiation, medical billing, settlement disbursement, and trust accounts
Experience with legal case management software (CASEpeer or similar preferred)
Experience working with bookkeepers and accounting teams
Exceptional attention to detail, organization, and ability to manage a high-volume caseload
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Bilingual English/Spanish a plus, but not required
Ability to handle confidential client, firm, and financial information with discretion
Ability to prioritize multiple settlement files at once
Problem solver who takes initiative without being told what to do
Team player who values co-workers
Compensation
$60,000 - $80,000 yearly
