Position: Senior Marketing Coordinator

Reports To: Owner & Managing Attorney

Employment Classification: Independent Contractor, Remote, Part-Time

Can you write a newsletter a busy real estate broker actually opens? Can you turn a closed transaction into an article that brings in the next one?

We are seeking a Senior Marketing Coordinator to own everything the firm writes at length — our email program, the blog and news content on our website, and our LinkedIn newsletter. You'll work closely with our Marketing & Multimedia Coordinator, who handles day-to-day graphic design and video editing.

WHAT WE OFFER

  • Flexible remote contract work structure.

  • A firm that invests in modern technology, AI-assisted workflows, and smart operations.

  • The opportunity to develop an ongoing working relationship as the firm continues to grow, with a path to full-time hours.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

You will own email and editorial marketing strategy and oversight for the firm, including:

Email Marketing

  • Plan, write, and send the firm's newsletter on a consistent monthly schedule.

  • Build and maintain drip and nurture campaigns aimed at referral partners, prospective clients, and past clients.

  • Write firm announcements.

  • Own list management and segmentation: keeping audiences clean, separated, and current.

  • Track and report on click rates, list growth, and deliverability, and change what isn't working.

Long-Form Website Content

  • Write blog and news posts for the firm's website, published on a predictable cadence.

  • Choose topics and target keywords that reach the people we want to reach — buyers, sellers, investors, and the agents who refer them.

LinkedIn Newsletter & Thought Leadership

  • Write and publish the firm's LinkedIn newsletter.

  • Ghostwrite thought-leadership content in the managing attorney's voice — commentary on market conditions, transaction trends, and what parties to a deal actually need to know.

Editorial Standards

  • Own the firm's voice and style guide. It governs everything the firm publishes, including social captions written by others — you set the standard, they follow it.

  • Build and maintain the library of attorney-approved language, so recurring content clears review faster over time.

  • Identify which long-form pieces should be adapted for social, and supply the key messages for that adaptation. Someone else builds the post; you decide what it needs to say.

Referral Partner & Client Communications

  • Write the communications that keep referral partners — primarily real estate agents and brokerages — engaged between deals: partner-facing newsletters, spotlights, and co-marketing copy.

  • Write the templated client-facing communications that surround a transaction — welcome and onboarding sequences, milestone updates, closing follow-ups, and review requests.

  • Maintain the firm's referral source tracker, logging partners, activity, and status.

Compliance

  • Route everything you write through brand review and attorney approval before it publishes or sends.

  • Flag anything that edges toward a guarantee, a testimonial, a claim about results, or legal advice — before it goes out, not after.

WHO YOU ARE

The statements below describe the person we're looking for:

  • You are, first and foremost, a strong writer. You can be clear without being bland and professional without being stiff.

  • You can write in someone else's voice convincingly, and you're comfortable being a ghostwriter rather than having a byline.

  • You've written in a regulated industry — legal, financial services, healthcare, insurance — or you can show us you understand why that's different.

  • You understand that in a law firm, the review process isn't bureaucracy. You'd rather hold a post than publish something that creates a problem.

  • You can hold a publishing schedule without being chased, and you plan far enough ahead that a slow approval doesn't derail the month.

  • You're comfortable setting a standard for other people's writing without needing to rewrite it yourself.

  • You're comfortable with AI-assisted drafting as a tool, and equally comfortable explaining where you didn't use it and why.

  • You bring topic ideas rather than waiting to be assigned them.

This role is not a fit if you:

  • Are looking for a general marketing role, or want to own social media strategy and publishing.

  • Need a detailed brief for every piece, or extensive supervision to hit a deadline.

  • Are uncomfortable writing about a subject you'll need to research first.

  • Find approval workflows frustrating rather than sensible.

  • Would submit AI-generated work as your own without disclosure or meaningful editing.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3+ years writing professionally — content marketing, copywriting, journalism, or communications.

  • Demonstrated experience running an email program end to end, including newsletters and nurture or drip campaigns, with results you can speak to.

  • Experience writing for a regulated or professional-services industry; legal or real estate experience strongly preferred.

  • Working knowledge of SEO as it applies to content — topic selection, search intent, and on-page fundamentals. You don't need to be technical.

  • Comfortable operating inside an email platform and CRM (HubSpot, Mailchimp, Constant Contact, or similar).

  • Experience writing or maintaining a style guide, or otherwise setting editorial standards others follow.

  • Excellent editorial judgment, including the discipline to cut your own work.

  • Writing samples required.

Compensation

$35 - $50 hourly
