Senior Family Law Attorney – Minneapolis, MN | $10,000 Hiring Bonus Available

You already know how to practice family law. You know how to manage difficult cases, guide clients through high-stakes decisions, negotiate when resolution is possible, and litigate when it isn’t.

So, we’re not looking for someone who simply checks the boxes of an experienced family law attorney. We’re looking for someone who wants to bring that experience to a firm where it will have an impact.

At Atticus Family Law, our attorneys don’t work alone. You’ll have an experienced team around you, established systems to support the work, and colleagues who believe the best results come from sharing ideas, talking through strategy, and using everyone’s strengths.

For more than 20 years, we’ve represented Minnesota families through divorce, custody, parenting time, spousal maintenance, property division, and complex financial matters. We take the work seriously, but we also recognize that building a great law firm means paying attention to the people doing that work.

As a Senior Family Law Attorney, you’ll have the autonomy to lead your cases and the opportunity to influence more than your own caseload. Your judgment will matter. Your ideas will be heard. And your experience can help shape our legal team as we continue to grow.

If you’re ready for your next chapter in family law, we’d like to talk.

  • Set the direction. Take the lead on complex family law matters, identify the issues that matter most, and build a strategy that moves each case forward with purpose.
  • Be the trusted legal voice. Help clients understand their options, weigh difficult decisions, and stay focused on both their immediate priorities and long-term goals.
  • Turn complexity into strategy. Dig into financial records, discovery, evidence, and complicated fact patterns to find what matters and determine how to use it.
  • Build the argument. Develop persuasive motions, briefs, affidavits, and other written advocacy that clearly advances the client’s position.
  • Step into the courtroom ready. Lead hearings, motions, evidentiary proceedings, and trials with preparation, confidence, and sound judgment.
  • Know when to fight and when to resolve. Negotiate strategically with opposing counsel and use mediation and settlement opportunities to pursue smart, meaningful outcomes for clients.
  • Lead the case, not every task. Work closely with paralegals and legal support professionals, delegate effectively, provide clear direction, and make the best use of the team around you.
  • Make the team stronger. Share what you know, offer perspective on challenging matters, mentor less-experienced colleagues, and contribute to a culture where people learn from one another.
  • Help us get better. Bring ideas, experience, and a willingness to challenge the status quo as we continue improving how we serve clients and practice family law.
  • Deep Minnesota family law experience. You have 10+ years of experience handling family law matters and an active Minnesota Bar license in good standing.
  • Judgment that comes from experience. You can assess a situation, identify what matters, and make thoughtful decisions without needing a roadmap for every step.
  • A steady presence. Family law can be emotional and unpredictable. You stay calm, professional, and clear-headed when the stakes are high.
  • Strong communication. You can make a persuasive legal argument, have a difficult conversation with a client, and communicate effectively with courts, opposing counsel, and your team.
  • Ownership. You keep track of the details, deadlines, commitments, and next steps that come with managing a sophisticated caseload. Things don’t quietly fall through the cracks.
  • Comfort with technology. You’re willing and able to use the systems and tools that make the practice more efficient, organized, and responsive.
  • A collaborative mindset. You ask for another perspective when it would help, offer yours when someone else needs it, and understand that great legal work doesn’t have to happen in isolation.
  • Adaptability. Priorities change, cases take unexpected turns, and urgent issues arise. You can adjust without losing sight of the bigger picture.
