The Senior Accountant at Abaris Real Estate Management is responsible for managing the financial operations of assigned condominium and association accounts. This includes monthly financial reporting, bank reconciliations, budget preparation, audits, tax coordination, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and governing documents.
The Senior Accountant provides accurate and timely financial information to property managers and Boards to support effective decision-making. This role oversees reconciliation processes, financial statements, and accounting controls while managing multiple associations and maintaining a high level of accuracy and accountability.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities while consistently meeting deadlines and maintaining accurate financial records.
Prepare and deliver monthly financial statements, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timely distribution to Property Managers and Boards.
Perform monthly bank reconciliations, including operating, reserve, and investment accounts, ensuring all balances are tied to financial statements.
Manage annual budget preparation, including creating templates, supporting Property Managers with projections, entering approved budgets into Vantaca, and coordinating assessment updates.
Record and review journal entries, including accruals, reserve contributions, loan allocations, insurance activity, and other financial adjustments.
Oversee audit and tax processes, including audit coordination, posting audit adjustments, managing tax payments, and maintaining audit and tax tracking logs.
Support financial controls and cash management, including reserve transfers, overdraft handling, and verification of account balances and funding requirements.
Provide support to accounting executives and perform ad hoc tasks as assigned.
A minimum of 5 years of accounting or financial reporting experience is preferred; CPA is a plus.
Experience with HOA, condominium, or property management accounting strongly preferred.
Strong understanding of GAAP and financial statement preparation.
Proficiency in accounting and property management systems (Vantaca or similar platforms preferred).
Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical capabilities.
Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple associations and reporting deadlines.
Excellent communication skills when working with Property Managers, Boards, auditors, and internal teams.
Compensation
$100,000 - $105,000 yearly
