The Salesforce & Litify Administrator will own all aspects of our case management system, Litify, which is built on the Salesforce platform. This is a hybrid administrator and developer role. It combines core Salesforce administration (users, permissions, configuration, task maps, reporting, and sandbox/staging environments) with the ability to read, troubleshoot, and modify the custom code in our system, including Apex and Lightning Web Components.
The right candidate will be comfortable working directly with leadership and individual departments to identify problems, develop solutions, and continuously improve our systems. They should be equally comfortable troubleshooting an employee's immediate issue and thinking strategically about how a process could be redesigned or automated across the organization.
We are looking for someone who can become our internal Salesforce expert rather than relying exclusively on outside consultants whenever the firm wants to make a change.
The most important quality for this role is the ability to learn how our business actually operates and to understand the Salesforce platform and its limits well enough to know what should be built, how it should be built, and what should not be built at all. Legal operations experience is helpful but not required; we expect the right person to learn it on the job.
Serve as the primary administrator and internal technical expert for the firm’s Salesforce and Litify environment, covering both configuration and custom development.
Configure and maintain Salesforce/Litify objects, fields, page layouts, record types, permission sets, profiles, queues, task maps, and other system components.
Build and maintain automation using Salesforce Flow and other declarative tools, and determine when a requirement calls for custom code instead.
Read, troubleshoot, and maintain existing custom code, including Apex classes, triggers, and Lightning Web Components; write and test new code when declarative tools are not sufficient.
Design solutions with Salesforce platform limits in mind (governor limits, API limits, and data storage) so the system stays stable and scalable as the firm grows.
Learn the firm’s business processes across intake, case management, litigation, and administrative teams, and partner with department leaders and the Director of Operations to translate business needs into practical technology solutions.
Lead the design and development of in-house AI solutions within Salesforce/Litify and connected systems to automate work, surface case insights, and improve efficiency across the firm.
Gather and document requirements before building, and recommend alternatives when a request would create unnecessary complexity or conflict with platform limits.
Evaluate existing Litify configurations and custom code and recommend improvements based on firm operations and user needs.
Create and maintain reports and dashboards that provide leadership with meaningful operational and performance data.
Manage sandbox/staging environments and deploy changes from sandbox to production, including testing, documentation, and release planning.
Troubleshoot system issues and provide ongoing support to attorneys, paralegals, intake staff, and administrative teams.
Manage user accounts, security permissions, access, and system settings.
Build and support integrations between Salesforce/Litify and other applications used by the firm, including MCP/API-based integrations and AppExchange packages.
Maintain data quality and help establish standards for consistent data entry and system usage.
Maintain current documentation of the system’s configuration, customizations, code, and integrations.
Review each Salesforce release and Litify package update for impact on existing configuration and custom code, and identify new capabilities that benefit the firm.
Identify opportunities to automate repetitive administrative work and improve the overall employee and client experience.
3+ years of hands-on Salesforce experience in a professional environment, including both administration and development work.
Ability to read, understand, and troubleshoot Apex and Lightning Web Components is required; experience writing Apex, SOQL, test classes, and Lightning Web Components is strongly preferred.
Strong command of Salesforce administration fundamentals: data model, security and sharing, permissions, Flow automation, reporting, and dashboards.
Working knowledge of Salesforce platform limits (governor limits, API limits, data storage) and how they shape solution design.
Experience managing sandboxes and deploying changes to production (change sets, Salesforce CLI, DevOps Center, or similar tools).
Strong interest in AI and hands-on experience building AI-powered tools and automation, such as Salesforce Agentforce, LLM integrations through APIs, or custom AI workflows, with the ability to design in-house AI solutions that are secure, accurate, and protect confidential client data
Demonstrated ability to learn business processes quickly and translate them into requirements and system design.
Experience in Litify preferred but not required.
Experience working with integrations, APIs, or third-party Salesforce/AppExchange applications.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to work with both technical and non-technical employees.
Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a growing organization.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to data integrity.
Experience with law firm technology or legal case-management systems is a plus, personal injury law firm especially valuable. Legal operations knowledge can be learned on the job.
Certifications:
Required: Salesforce Certified Platform Administrator (formerly Salesforce Administrator). Exception potentially made for candidates with 5+ years of combined hands-on administration and development experience.
Strongly preferred: Salesforce Certified Platform Developer (formerly Platform Developer I); Platform Developer II is a significant plus.
Preferred: Salesforce Certified Platform Administrator II (formerly Advanced Administrator) and Salesforce Certified Platform App Builder.
Nice to have: Salesforce Certified Business Analyst.
Salesforce renamed many certifications in 2025. Equivalent credentials earned under prior names are accepted.
