Position Summary
The Sales Manager oversees all aspects of the Yutka Fence sales department, ensuring a high-performing, efficient, and customer-centric sales operation built on integrity. This role focuses heavily on sales process ownership, team leadership, sales training, onboarding, lead management, accurate estimating, KPI tracking, strategic partnerships, and cross-department collaboration — all carried out with professionalism.
The Sales Manager ensures consistent execution, drives progress through revenue growth, and protects the customer's experience from first contact through installation.
Sales Leadership & Team Management
Lead and support the sales team in daily operations, ensuring adherence to company standards and processes
Conduct weekly 1:1 meetings and team huddles to review pipeline, follow-up habits, goals, and performance
Run structured, agenda-driven weekly meetings that close out prior action items and deliver clear outcomes for the team
Provide ongoing coaching to improve closing skills, customer communication, and estimating accuracy
Hold team members accountable for CRM usage, responsiveness, pipeline movement, and professionalism
Manage daily/weekly workflow, including appointment distribution
Promote a positive team culture centered on accountability, ethical selling, and continuous improvement
Lead Management & Follow-Up Oversight
Ensure all inbound leads receive timely, consistent first contact
Build, enforce, and monitor a structured, multi-channel follow-up process from first response through long-term nurturing
Audit the sales pipeline weekly to ensure no leads are neglected or stalled
Improve lead flow efficiency in collaboration with internal teams
Track and improve key follow-up and conversion metrics
Sales Training, Coaching & Development
Build and maintain a complete onboarding and sales training curriculum covering:
Product knowledge
Sales skills and customer communication
Estimating & measurement accuracy
CRM usage
Follow-up best practices
Conduct regular coaching, role-play, and field training sessions, along with ongoing skill development workshops.
Provide ongoing feedback based on performance reviews and customer interactions.
Create or update tools such as scripts, objection responses, product guides, and sales playbooks.
Onboarding for New Sales Representatives
Own the 30-60-90 day onboarding plan for all new sales hires
Facilitate system setup (CRM, scheduling tools, docs)
Coordinate shadowing and field training, including on-site measurement, quoting, and product education
Track onboarding progress, ensuring readiness before independent field work
Conduct weekly performance reviews and provide guidance for improvement
Sales Process Ownership & SOP Implementation
Develop, document, and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the entire sales process
Ensure all reps follow consistent steps from lead intake to job handoff
Update SOPs as tools, systems, or expectations evolve
Audit compliance and correct process deviations immediately
Communicate process changes clearly to the team
Pricing Integrity & Estimate Accuracy
Review complex, high-value, and non-standard quotes to ensure accuracy
Maintain consistency in pricing structures, discount rules, and margin targets
Regularly audit estimates to reduce errors and improve profitability
KPI Monitoring, Reporting & Forecasting
Track and report on key sales performance metrics
Provide weekly and monthly performance updates to leadership
Conduct revenue projections and pipeline forecasts to support scheduling, staffing, and inventory planning
Identify performance gaps and create corrective action plans
Customer Escalations & Service Recovery
Serve as the primary escalation point for customers with concerns about estimates, communication, or project expectations
Partner with internal teams to resolve issues quickly and professionally
Coach reps on how to deliver difficult updates or resolve service issues effectively
Strategic Partnerships & Community Engagement
Coordinate on-site sales support at local events to drive lead generation.
Build and maintain high-value relationships across the industry to drive referral business
Represent the company at trade shows, expos, community events, and networking groups
Ensure partnership-generated leads receive premium-level follow-up and tracking
Develop strategies to maximize partner referrals and industry relationships
Collaboration with Marketing
Share ongoing insight into lead quality, customer trends, and market feedback
Align messaging between Sales and Marketing
Participate in marketing planning for campaigns, promotions, and seasonal demand
Ensure Marketing receives accurate feedback loops from sales interactions
Hiring & Team Capacity Planning
Lead the hiring process for screening, interviewing, and assessing sales candidates
Proactively plan for staffing needs based on workload and performance
Provide leadership with recommendations on team size, structure, and roles
Assist with creating performance improvement plans for reps who need support
Identify underperforming reps, make them aware, coach up or out — quickly
Required Qualifications
3+ years of experience in sales management, ideally in a field-based, estimate-driven, or home-services industry (fencing, roofing, solar, HVAC, remodeling, etc.) — direct experience in fencing or outdoor living is a strong plus
Demonstrated experience building or enforcing sales processes/SOPs — not just following someone else's
Proven track record using sales data/CRM reporting to actively coach a team, not just monitor numbers
Experience owning full-cycle lead management (response, follow-up, conversion tracking)
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience running structured team meetings/trainings
Experience in candidate screening, interviewing, and hiring decisions for a sales team
Proficiency with CRM systems
Preferred Qualifications
Experience building partner/referral-based lead channels
Background in new-hire onboarding or curriculum development for a sales team
History of hitting or exceeding upsell/attach-rate goals
Experience managing a team through a growth or scaling phase
