The Safety & Security Officer is primarily responsible for meeting and maintaining guest satisfaction by creating peerless experiences from the moment the guest arrives at the hotel, providing a sense of safety and well-being that will not be forgotten or mistaken.

• Provide our guests with the best in service, courtesy, and care by responding promptly to guest requests, assistance, directions, and other amenities or information. Follow up with guests during their visit to ensure overall satisfaction and repeat business.

• Attend pre-shift meetings to learn daily particulars, including guest and hotel expectations, to ensure consistency.

• Your passion for service will be reflected by how you perform the function of safety and security. Manage emergencies, undesired conduct, disturbances, threats to life and property to maintain a safe and secure environment.

• Spend the majority of the shift on foot patrol of the hotel to observe and identify potential security and safety risks or undesirable conditions; required use of two-way radio.

• Maintain order in the hotel, dealing with the welfare of the guests, e.g., assisting with door lock problems, coordinating expedient response to emergency conditions such as fire, safety hazards, and threats.

• Handle violations of hotel policy or civil laws as warranted for the security and safety of hotel guests, team members, patrons, and property.

• Promptly answer safety & security telephone and safety hotline calls and respond based on priority.

• Monitor the security monitors for any unusual activity and, in the case of suspicious behavior, report directly via radio to the Safety & Security management team or leader on duty; report any alarms similarly.

• Provide accurate information and document all appropriate incidents.

• Operate and monitor life safety systems installed at the property, including knowledge of the entire building layout, alarm pull stations, location of fire extinguishers and sprinklers. Escort guests and team members as needed to the parking garage/lot, and for team members carrying a house-bank.

• Investigate accidents, thefts, property loss, and unlawful activities.

• Ensure proper cleanliness, use, and repair of all safety and security equipment and closet/storage areas.

• Advise the management team of supply levels or any non-functioning equipment.

• Maintain workplace safety and corporate compliance by taking proactive measures and enforcing Hotel safety standards.

• Ensure guest satisfaction includes the prompt return of lost items or items accidentally left behind in our hotels; therefore, overseeing the hotel's Lost & Found procedures is critical.

• Provide instruction and guidance for guests' and team members' safety in fire or other emergencies.

• High school diploma or GED preferred; or · Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school; or any other combination of education, training, or experience provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the job functions.

• Prior Law Enforcement or Military experience preferred.

• Valid, current driver's license required.

• Tuberculosis clearance certification (CA) required.

• CPR Certification, First Aid training, and AED Certification required.
