Description

Who We Are

Onesta General Contracting is a high-performance team specializing in commercial and multifamily renovations and restoration across the Pacific Northwest. We're known for doing things the right way — high standards, clear communication, and strong execution.

This is not a "just show up" crew. We hire people who take ownership, move with urgency, and want to build a real career in construction and restoration.

The Opportunity

We're looking for a reliable, high-output Laborer with restoration or remediation experience who wants more than a paycheck — you want to learn the trade, earn trust, and grow into more responsibility over time.

Restoration work moves fast and doesn't wait — water damage, fire loss, and mold don't stay on a schedule. If you're comfortable working with urgency in active loss situations, know your way around mitigation equipment, and also bring basic construction skills to the table, this role can quickly evolve into a skilled trade position or leadership track.

Responsibilities

Restoration & Remediation:

  • Perform water, fire, mold, and biohazard mitigation tasks under the direction of a lead tech or superintendent (extraction, demo of affected materials, content manipulation/pack-outs)

  • Set up, monitor, and break down drying/mitigation equipment (air movers, dehumidifiers, air scrubbers)

  • Follow proper PPE and containment protocols on mold, biohazard, and hazardous material sites

  • Safely execute selective demolition of water- or fire-damaged materials (drywall, flooring, cabinetry)

  • Work respectfully and efficiently in occupied or partially occupied structures during active restoration

Construction & General Labor:

  • Execute demolition and maintain clean, organized, and safe job sites daily

  • Receive, verify, and stage materials (including checking packing slips and identifying discrepancies)

  • Transport tools and materials between the shop and job sites

  • Operate a company dump truck to haul debris and construction waste from job sites to designated disposal locations safely and efficiently

  • Maintain job site inventory and storage systems

  • Support superintendents, project managers, and lead technicians with day-to-day execution

  • Participate in safety meetings, team huddles, and job site coordination

  • Take ownership of job site cleanliness, equipment care, and overall readiness

  • Perform physically demanding work (lifting 80–100 lbs, full-shift activity)

Qualifications

This role is for someone who takes pride in doing things right and doesn't need to be told twice.

Must-haves:

  • Valid Washington State Driver's License and reliable personal vehicle

  • Clean driving record and ability to safely operate a company dump truck (or willingness to be trained quickly)

  • Basic familiarity with restoration or remediation work (water, fire, mold, or biohazard cleanup)

  • Comfortable wearing PPE and following containment/safety protocols in damaged or hazardous environments

  • Strong work ethic and consistency — shows up on time, ready to work

  • Coachable mindset — asks questions, learns quickly, and applies feedback

  • High level of accountability — owns tasks and follows through

  • Ability to communicate clearly and work well within a team

  • Basic familiarity with construction environments and hand tools

Preferred:

  • IICRC certification (WRT, ASD, or similar) or willingness to obtain

  • Previous experience with mitigation equipment (air movers, dehumidifiers, moisture meters)

  • Previous construction or general labor experience

  • Experience operating trucks, trailers, or hauling equipment

What Sets You Apart

  • You move with urgency and don't wait to be told what to do — especially on active loss jobs where timing matters

  • You notice problems and take initiative to solve them

  • You take pride in clean, organized, and properly contained job sites

  • You're comfortable working in occupied homes or units with damaged, sensitive, or difficult conditions

  • You're looking for a long-term path in construction and restoration — not just a temporary job

Compensation

$23 - $30/hour
