We are launching a new outpatient pulmonary and sleep medicine practice serving patients in the Austin and Leander communities. Our clinical team is led by a board-certified internist and pulmonologist dedicated to providing compassionate, high-quality specialty care. Pulmonary Testing

  • Perform high-quality spirometry (with or without pre/post‑bronchodilator), complete PFTs: lung volumes, DLCO, and peak flow.

  • Prepare and coach patients to obtain accurate, reproducible results; recognize suboptimal effort and technical issues.

  • Accurately document results and route for provider review; maintain quality-control logs.

Equipment and Environment

  • Clean, disinfect, calibrate, troubleshoot, and maintain spirometry/PFT and respiratory equipment per protocol and manufacturer guidance.

  • Maintain a safe, clean, organized testing environment and adequate clinical supplies.

Care Coordination & Admin

  • Assist with oxygen qualification workflows and coordinate with DME vendors, oxygen suppliers, PAP suppliers, pharmacies, sleep labs, imaging centers, and referring offices.

  • Support prior authorizations and documentation for PFTs, sleep studies, PAP therapy, oxygen, nebulizers, respiratory equipment, and specialty medications.

  • Use the EMR to manage orders, documentation, and routing.

Patient care, Testing & Education

  • Provide inhaler technique training, spacer and nebulizer education, oxygen safety counseling, and preparation for respiratory testing.

  • Occasionally assist with in-clinic nebulizer treatments, 6‑minute walk tests, and ambulatory pulse oximetry.

Required

  • Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Care program accredited by the Committee on Accreditation for Respiratory Care, or by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CoARC/CAAHEP).

  • NBRC‑credentialed: CRT or RRT.

  • Active Texas Respiratory Care Practitioner license.

  • BLS certification.

  • 2–5+ years of respiratory therapy experience.

  • Proficiency in pulmonary function testing (any setting acceptable).

  • Comfort working independently; dependable and professional. Proficiency with computers and standard EMR use.

Preferred

  • ACLS (not required for outpatient).

  • Prior authorizations/insurance workflow experience.

  • Pulmonary rehab, outpatient pulmonary, or sleep medicine exposure.

  • Bilingual.

  • RPSGT or sleep diagnostics experience (for higher compensation band).

  • Experience with DME coordination and PAP therapy (CPAP/BiPAP).

Compensation

$35 - $50 hourly
