Registered Veterinarian Technician

Job Description:

A Registered Veterinarian Technician (RVT) is responsible for providing high-quality care to animals in a veterinary clinic or hospital. The RVT will work closely with the veterinarian to diagnose and treat animals, perform medical procedures, and provide education to pet owners. The RVT will also be responsible for maintaining accurate medical records and ensuring that the clinic or hospital is clean and organized.

Responsibilities:

• Assist the veterinarian in diagnosing and treating animals
• Perform medical procedures, such as administering medication, taking blood samples, and performing X-rays
• Provide education to pet owners on proper animal care and nutrition
• Maintain accurate medical records
• Ensure that the clinic or hospital is clean and organized
• Assist with surgery and anesthesia
• Monitor animals during recovery from surgery or illness
• Administer vaccinations and other preventative treatments
• Perform dental cleanings and extractions

Requirements:

• Must be a Registered Veterinarian Technician
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work well in a team environment
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to lift and restrain animals
• Flexibility to work weekends and evenings
