Sandcastle Homes is seeking reliable, personable Open House Hosts to welcome and guide visitors through our new construction homes across close-in Houston neighborhoods. This is an ideal supplemental income opportunity for someone with strong interpersonal skills, a professional presence, and a genuine interest in learning about residential real estate and quality construction.

The Opportunity: You'll be representing one of Houston's most respected new construction builders across beautiful, well-designed homes in desirable close-in neighborhoods. You'll interact with potential buyers, homeowners, consumers, and agents in a professional setting—and earn solid hourly pay while doing it.

COMPENSATION & TRAINING STRUCTURE

Training Phase (6–8 hours)

• Rate: $15/hour

• What's included: Property knowledge, role expectations, communication training, Q&A with mentor

Apprenticeship Phase (~10 hours)

• Rate: $15/hour

• What's included: You'll shadow an experienced Open House Host over two consecutive weekend days

Independent Hosting (Ongoing)

• Rate: $20/hour

• Starts after apprenticeship completion

• You'll lead your own open houses

What You'll Do:

• Welcome visitors warmly and professionally to open houses

• Answer questions about properties, floor plans, finishes, and our neighborhoods

• Share Sandcastle's story and building philosophy with prospective buyers

• Collect visitor information professionally and accurately

• Maintain property during open house hours (cleanliness, temperature, lighting, etc.)

• Provide feedback on visitor interest and traffic patterns

• Work independently and represent Sandcastle's brand with professionalism and care

• Travel between listings (walk or drive) as needed for multi-property assignments

• Climb stairs within completed homes to access and show upper floors and secondary spaces

• Set up and remove wooden or metal-stake open house directional signs before and after each shift

What We're Looking For:

• High emotional intelligence – You read people well and can adapt your approach based on visitor needs

• Professional demeanor – You're comfortable interacting with potential home buyers from Houston's diverse community

• Customer-facing experience – Retail, hospitality, education, healthcare, or similar background is a plus, but not required if you have strong people skills

• Reliability – You show up on time, every time; no exceptions

• Your own vehicle – You need dependable transportation to our properties

• Willingness to learn – Interest in understanding new home trends, construction techniques, materials, and Houston neighborhoods is important; we'll train you on everything else

• Weekend flexibility – Minimum 3 shifts per month; we target 15+ hours/month (Sat/Sun, occasionally Fri evenings). Shifts range from 2–5 hours; most are 5-hour shifts

• No active real estate license – If you hold an active Texas real estate license, you're not eligible for this role

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to climb stairs repeatedly throughout the shift

• Comfortable walking between properties or driving to multiple listings

• Ability to push metal/wooden signs into the ground and remove them (light physical work)

• Ability to stand for extended periods during open house hours

• No heavy lifting required, but general physical fitness is helpful
