Description

Are you a litigation attorney who wants real responsibility, clear expectations, and the ability to practice law with precision—not chaos?

At Kendall Law, we are a boutique civil litigation and real estate law firm built on compliance-driven strategy, strong advocacy, and client-forward service. We don’t just litigate—we protect clients’ interests, guide them through complex disputes, and deliver results with integrity.

We’re growing and looking for a 3–5 year Litigation Associate with a strong foundation in real estate and civil litigation who wants ownership of their cases and a meaningful role within a collaborative, high-performing team.

Responsibilities

What You’ll Do

This is a hands-on litigation role with autonomy, structure, and support.

You will:

  • Lead real estate and civil litigation matters from pre-litigation through resolution or trial
  • Handle commercial and residential real estate disputes, including:
  • Landlord-tenant and unlawful detainer matters
  • Property rights, title disputes, and real estate fraud
  • Draft and argue motions; manage written discovery; conduct legal research
  • Take and defend depositions, participate in mediations, and prepare cases for trial
  • Appear in court regularly (remote and in-person)
  • Advise clients directly by setting expectations, explaining legal strategy, and providing sound, practical guidance
  • Represent clients in real estate closings, disputes, and litigation
  • Review and draft legal documents, including:
  • Purchase agreements, leases, contracts
  • Oversee and collaborate with paralegals and support staff using established systems and workflows

You will not be micromanaged—and you will not be left without guidance.

Who Thrives at Kendall Law

This role is ideal for an attorney who:

  • Has 3–5 years of California civil litigation experience, with real estate litigation strongly preferred
  • Is comfortable managing cases with minimal oversight
  • Enjoys client-facing work and taking ownership of outcomes
  • Thinks strategically and values accuracy, compliance, and preparation
  • Thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment

Unlawful detainer, land use, and title insurance experience are a plus—but strong litigation fundamentals and judgment matter most.

Qualifications

  • Active California Bar license in good standing (required)
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in civil litigation, including depositions, mediations, and court appearances
  • Prior real estate litigation experience required
  • Knowledge of property management, land use, title insurance, and business law preferred
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • Strong written, analytical, and communication skills

Compensation

$150,000 - $180,000/year
