Denver Test Prep (www.denvertestprep.com) is currently hiring a part-time reading specialist to work with students who have been diagnosed with dyslexia and other reading-related learning differences, using Orton-Gillingham or another structured literacy approach. Tutoring sessions are typically held in the homes of our students, at their schools, or at local libraries in the Denver/Boulder area.

DTP tutors should be available for tutoring three to four days a week, with a minimum of 5 hours per week.

COMPENSATION

• $75 – $95 for each 90-minute tutoring session

• The starting rate of pay is $50/hour for tutoring, plus an additional $20/hour for time spent driving to and from tutoring sessions.
  

• Deliver 1-on-1 or small-group reading intervention sessions tailored to each student's needs, learning style, and goals.

• Prepare and customize session materials, including structured literacy lesson plans, phonics and decoding activities, and progress-tracking tools based on each student's reading level and ongoing needs.

• Track and communicate student progress to families and clients, including reading-skill benchmarks (phonics, decoding, fluency) and flagging areas needing additional focus.

• Maintain reliable scheduling and communication, confirming session times, responding promptly to family inquiries, and adhering to DTP's billing and cancellation policies.

• Graduate of a 4-year college or university.

• Completed a training course in Orton-Gillingham or another multi-sensory structured language program, and applied it in practice in a small-group or one-on-one setting.

• 2+ years of teaching or tutoring experience, including experience in structured literacy.

• Background check required as a condition of employment.

• Reliable car to get to tutoring sessions not located near public transit.
