TITLE: Quality Control Calibration Technician
FLSA: Non-Exempt, Full-Time
Reports To: Quality Manager
Scope: This position is responsible for assisting SSI teammates in resolving issues, building SSI electronic and mechanical assemblies and sub-assemblies, and testing components, boards, and instruments. The QC calibration technician is responsible for performing maintenance, testing, troubleshooting, calibration, and repair on a variety of analytical equipment and instrumentation.

Responsibilities
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Examine instruments for defects, utilizing knowledge of industry standard manufacturing and quality criteria, to ensure conformance to established SSI product specifications.
- Calibrate instruments per established SSI procedures and perform validation studies and tests to assure instrument performance compliance.
- Ensure that instruments are ready for calibration.
- Ensure established production standards are followed
- Maintain appropriate documentation for QC procedures.
- Maintain quality control records.
- Maintain calibration equipment.
- Troubleshot completed work for assigned projects as well as projects for other SSI employees as required.
- Assist with customer repairs and returns (RMA), instrument calibration, staging instruments for shipment, and other duties as required.
- Demonstrate proper work methods, such as machine setup, wire routing, assembly, inspection sequence, repair, and test equipment operation.
- Answer questions and assist production employees as needed.
- Familiar with ESD Protocols
- Inspect parts, assemblies, and sub-assemblies to mechanical prints and all applicable specifications.
- Perform fit, form, or functional testing on supplier-provided parts/assemblies
- Document all dimensional and functional testing results in an Incoming Inspection report.
- Identify, quarantine, and process nonconforming product in a timely manner.
- Effectively communicate identified issues found during inspections to Engineering, Production, Quality, Material Control, and External Providers.

Qualifications
Skills and Competencies:
- 2+ years of electronics manufacturing experience.
- Proficiency with common hand tools (screwdrivers, pliers, cutters, wrenches, etc.), common power tools, and continuity test equipment (ohm meter).
- Knowledge of the safe use of common power tools.
- Working knowledge of standard electronic test equipment (DMM, Oscilloscope, etc.).
- Familiarity with a variety of electronic and electromechanical components, along with a basic understanding of component compatibilities, incompatibilities, and common-sense circuit design.
- Proficient in computer skills, including Microsoft Office and web browsing software.
- Goal-oriented team player.
- Attention to detail.
- Good verbal, interpersonal, and written communication skills (in English).
- General electronics knowledge and electronics assembly skills (mechanical).
- Familiarity with the ISO9001 standard is a plus.
- Must be a self-starter, able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, and have strong organizational abilities.
- Experience with SMT soldering a plus.
- The use of test/inspection instruments, e.g., multimeters, calipers, micrometers, pin gages, etc., is a plus
- Working knowledge of the NetSuite ERP System is a plus.
- Incoming Inspection experience a plus
Education:
- High School Diploma or GED (required).
- 2 years’ experience in electronics or a closely related field.
