Description
Are you a seasoned Probate Paralegal who thrives on bringing order to complexity, driving cases to closure, and truly owning the process from start to finish? Do you believe that efficient, compassionate estate administration is a cornerstone of client peace of mind? If so, Sippel Law, LLC is looking for the strategic, detail-oriented leader who can transform our probate department.
This isn't just a job; it's an opportunity to step into a critical leadership role within our firm. You will be the engine driving our probate and estate administration cases, transforming a bottleneck into a smooth, efficient, and client-delighting process. You will take full ownership of cases from initial engagement through final closing, ensuring timely progress, clear communication, and meticulous execution. You will build the machine while running it, developing the systems that will allow us to serve even more families with excellence.
Responsibilities
- Driving Probate Cases to Completion: Own the entire probate and estate administration lifecycle, ensuring cases move forward proactively and close within 9 months (absent external constraints).
- Systemizing the Process: Develop and implement clear Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all probate tasks, enabling consistent, high-quality execution.
- Flawless Case Initiation: Ensure new probate cases are opened within one week of client engagement and beneficiary mailings are sent within one week of PR signing.
- Expert Client Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for probate clients, providing empathetic updates and guiding them through complex legal processes.
- Meticulous Documentation & Filings: Prepare and file all necessary court documents, manage deadlines, and maintain organized case files in MyCase and Excel.
- Team Leadership & Direction: Provide clear guidance and direction to our legal assistant, delegating tasks effectively and ensuring the team's collective success.
- Financial Administration: Handle basic accounting tasks related to estate administration, including inventory and accounting.
Qualifications
Who This Is For
- The Proactive Driver: You don't wait to be told what to do; you anticipate needs, identify next steps, and relentlessly push cases forward.
- The System Builder: You see inefficiencies as opportunities and are eager to create and document processes that bring clarity and consistency.
- The Empathetic Communicator: You can explain complex legal concepts clearly and patiently, providing reassurance and guidance to clients during challenging times.
- The Detail-Oriented Leader: You thrive on precision, organization, and ensuring every "i" is dotted and "t" is crossed, while also being able to see the big picture.
- The Self-Starter: You are capable of managing a full caseload independently, requiring minimal "spoon-feeding" of next steps.
Who This Is NOT For
- This is NOT for someone who needs constant supervision or prefers to wait for instructions. We need an owner.
- This is NOT for someone uncomfortable with process improvement or unwilling to document their work for the benefit of the team.
- This is NOT for someone who struggles with managing multiple deadlines or communicating proactively with clients and team members.
Compensation
$50,000 - $60,000/year
