Our office is expanding, and we’re looking for a medical assistant to help us provide first-class patient care! You’ll be responsible for greeting patients, scheduling appointments, and working directly with our healthcare staff to record patient histories, collect test samples, and assist with examinations. Our ideal candidate has some experience working in a medical office performing clinical tasks or in an administrative role and knows how to build an excellent rapport with people. This position is full-time, Monday - Friday, 9: 00 am to 6:00 pm

  • Assist physical therapists in implementing treatment plans and providing hands-on therapy to patients.

  • Conduct patient assessments and track progress, making necessary adjustments to treatment plans as directed by the physical therapist.

  • Educate patients on therapeutic exercises and techniques to improve mobility and function.

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and documentation, including treatment progress and changes in patient condition.

  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care for patients.

  • Put together insurance forms, noting patient symptoms, diagnoses, test results, treatment instructions, and prescriptions in the patient records
  • Provide support to healthcare staff during examination by handing the correct supplies and medical instruments to the physician, position the patient, and assisting with other tasks as needed
  • Welcome patients to the office, take telephone calls, schedule appointments, and answer questions about treatment or prescription refills to ensure an excellent patient experience
  • Prepare exam rooms for patients ensuring the room is well-stocked and at a comfortable temperature for the patient and sterilize equipment
  • Discuss patient information, medical history, and the reason for their visit to share with the healthcare staff
  • Associate’s Degree in Physical Therapy Assisting from an accredited program.

  • Current state licensure or certification as a Physical Therapy Assistant.

  • Strong clinical skills with the ability to perform patient evaluations and develop effective treatment plans.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with patients and their families.

  • You will need to provide us with your license number during your interview

  • Possesses basic computer skills to complete administrative tasks
  • High school graduate or has GED
  • At least 1 year of previous experience as a medical assistant performing administrative duties or similar role in a healthcare work environment
  • Has Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification from the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) or other certifying agency
  • Solid communication and customer service skills

Compensation

$30 - $33 hourly
