• What You’ll Do

  • Create a welcoming, educational, and positive experience for every client who visits Animology

  • Engage with dog and cat owners to learn about their pets and recommend products and solutions tailored to their needs

  • Help drive sales growth through genuine conversations, relationship-building, and product education

  • Learn about pet nutrition, supplements, treats, enrichment, grooming products, and holistic wellness solutions

  • Accurately process transactions, returns, exchanges, and loyalty accounts at the register

  • Assist with opening and closing responsibilities, including balancing registers and securing the store

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and visually appealing sales floor

  • Receive inventory, rotate stock, restock shelves, and maintain accurate product displays

  • Assist clients with carrying products, loading heavy bags, and locating items throughout the store

  • Support team communication through positivity, accountability, and constructive feedback

  • Help maintain store security and uphold company policies and procedures

  • Work collaboratively across departments, including retail, grooming, and self-wash

• Product Knowledge: Possess a deep understanding of our range of pet nutrition products, supplies, and grooming services to effectively assist customers in making informed decisions

• Customer Service Excellence: Provide outstanding customer service by greeting, assisting, and engaging customers in a friendly and approachable manner. Address customer inquiries, provide recommendations, and offer solutions that align with their pets' requirements

• Nutritional Expertise: Leverage a minimum of 1 year of experience in pet nutrition to offer expert advice on dietary requirements, ingredients, and portion control for dogs and cats

• Product Recommendations: Assist customers in identifying the specific needs of their pets and recommending suitable products to fulfill those needs, fostering customer loyalty and trust

• Clear Communication: Collaborate effectively with team members to ensure seamless operations. Communicate product insights, inventory updates, and customer feedback to the team

• Cashier Duties: Utilize your 1 year of cashier experience to efficiently process transactions, handle payments, and maintain accurate records of sales

• Store Maintenance: Contribute to the cleanliness and organization of the store, including stocking shelves, arranging displays, and maintaining a visually appealing environment

• Grooming Support: Provide information about grooming services and assist customers in scheduling appointments for their pets

• Weekend Availability: Be available to work on weekends to accommodate customer needs and contribute to a well-rounded team schedule

• Minimum 1 year of experience in pet nutrition, demonstrating a strong understanding of the dietary needs of dogs and cats - not required but preferred

• 1 year of cashier experience, highlighting proficiency in handling transactions and maintaining accurate records -not required but preferred

• Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to engage and build rapport with diverse customers

• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective collaboration with team members and customer interactions

• Passion for pets and their well-being, coupled with a genuine interest in helping pet owners make informed decisions

• Availability to work weekends, with flexible options for both full-time and part-time schedules

Required Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older

• Ability to lift and carry up to 45 pounds consistently

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent

• Comfortable using computers, POS systems, calculators, and basic math skills

• Ability to stay on your feet for extended periods

• Comfortable learning new systems and technology

• Reliable transportation preferred
