If you are a litigation paralegal who is tired of babysitting pre-litigation files and wants to live in filed cases, read on.
WGK Personal Injury Lawyers is hiring a Litigation Paralegal for our Baltimore office. You will work active lawsuits in Maryland state and federal courts, concentrated in auto accident and premises liability matters. Discovery, motions, depositions, mediation, arbitration, trial. High-value cases may hit your desk from day one.
Two things set this seat apart. First, this is litigation only. You will not be chasing medical records or building demand packages. Second, we hand our paralegals real AI tools and expect them to use them. Drafting, research, document review.
Full-time, in-office at our Baltimore office.
Getting the case into suit
You will draft complaints for attorney review, including party identification, jurisdiction and venue allegations, and counts against each defendant. You will handle filing in the correct Maryland circuit or district court, prepare and issue summonses, coordinate service of process on defendants and their carriers, and track service returns and answer deadlines.
Discovery
Discovery is yours. You will draft, serve, and respond to interrogatories, requests for production, and requests for admission. You will run document productions end to end, from organization through review and privilege logging, and use AI drafting tools to move faster on responses and review. Every deadline in the scheduling order is on your calendar and your radar.
Working the docket
You will draft motions, oppositions, memoranda, and proposed orders for attorney review, using AI tools for legal research, first-pass frameworks, and case law summaries. You will prepare and e-file in Maryland state courts and federal district court, monitor dockets and court notices, and surface conflicts the moment you spot them. Hearings, expert conferences, and case management calls get scheduled by you.
Building the record
You will schedule and coordinate depositions, then build the summaries and exhibits that come out of them. You will coordinate court reporters, expert witnesses, and litigation support vendors, and communicate directly and professionally with opposing counsel and court personnel throughout.
Getting to resolution
For cases headed to mediation or arbitration, you will assemble the package: damages summaries, exhibit compilations, everything the attorney needs walking in. For cases headed to trial, you will build the binders, exhibit lists, and witness files, and handle pre-trial logistics start to finish.
Throughout
Every active file lives in Filevine, and you own it: docket entries, document organization, deadline tracking.
Required
Minimum 2 years of litigation paralegal experience; plaintiff-side personal injury strongly preferred
Experience drafting complaints and managing filing and service of process
Hands-on experience managing active discovery in Maryland state courts
Working knowledge of the Maryland Rules of Civil Procedure and e-filing requirements
Trial preparation experience, including exhibit management and trial binders
Genuine willingness to work with AI drafting and research tools
Advanced Microsoft Office skills
Preferred
Prior hands-on experience with AI drafting and research tools (Claude, CoCounsel, or comparable)
Filevine or comparable case management system experience
Workers' compensation litigation experience, which is a significant plus here
What tells us you'll thrive
You write sharply, whether it is a discovery response or an email to opposing counsel
You can carry multiple active files under deadline pressure without someone checking on you
You would rather own a case than be handed tasks from one
Compensation
$33 - $38.50 hourly
