Personal Injury Associate Attorney (Virginia Licensed, New Bar Admittees Welcome) $90,000 to $100,000 Base + Quarterly Commissions, Chantilly/Fairfax, Hybrid Possible
Getting sworn in on October 30? By the end of your first quarter you could be negotiating your own docket of injury cases, with a team of four behind you and a senior attorney one door down.
Right Path Law Group is a growing personal injury and criminal defense firm serving Northern Virginia’s immigrant and working-class communities. Our PI department settled more than 1,000 cases last year and is still growing, so we are hiring a new attorney who wants to learn the craft of resolving cases from the inside: building the demand, reading the adjuster, knowing when to push and when to file. If you want to become the lawyer clients call first, this is where that starts.
What we offer
$90,000 to $100,000 base salary, with a defined step-up at your twelve-month review
Quarterly performance commissions on the fees you collect above a first-year threshold scaled to a new attorney, with no ceiling, plus a quarterly volume bonus when your settled-case count hits target
15% origination on cases you bring in, whether or not you handle them
100% employer-paid health, dental and vision insurance
401(k) with a 4% employer match after one year
Three weeks PTO plus firm holidays, Virginia State Bar dues and CLE paid, mileage reimbursed
A support pod of case managers, paralegals and a medical records specialist, and our Eve platform that drafts demand packages, so your hours go to negotiating and advising, not chasing records
Hybrid flexibility once your docket is running
A senior PI attorney who reviews your first settlements with you and second-chairs your first depositions and hearings
Your first year, in plain terms
Weeks 1 to 4: learn our case system and demand process, sit in on negotiations, and shadow a senior attorney on client meetings
By day 60: carry your own negotiation docket of 40 to 50 pre-litigation files, with settlement authority reviewed by senior counsel
By month 6: handle General District Court matters, depositions and motions hearings on your own files, with a mentor on call
By year end: a full pre-litigation docket, your first litigated cases moving in Circuit Court, and a commission check you earned
What you will do
Evaluate claims, review and approve demand packages, and negotiate directly with insurance adjusters
Advise clients at every stage, from treatment through settlement, in plain language
Prepare and argue motions, take and defend depositions, and try General District Court cases as you grow into litigation
Keep clean files: timely notes, deadlines and documentation in our case management system
Work daily with your pod and bring ideas to case reviews and strategy sessions
What you bring
Active Virginia law license, or a July 2026 bar passer being sworn in on October 30 (apply now; we will time your start to your admission)
Evidence that advocacy is the point for you: trial advocacy or moot court, a civil or personal injury clinic, a clerkship at a plaintiff or insurance-defense firm, or time inside a courtroom in any role
Comfort with numbers, medical records and persuasion in writing, because a demand letter is an argument
A client-first mindset and the organization to run forty files at once
Spanish is a real plus and not a requirement
Interviews are happening now and the role starts in November. Send your resume and a short note about the moment that made you want to represent injured people. Take the right path and apply today.
