We're hiring a Speech-Language Pathologist for a clinical role with the potential to evolve into leadership opportunities. You'll build your own pediatric caseload while helping shape the future of our practice.

Your caseload will be primarily clinic-based, with a consistent weekly block of school-based pull-out sessions at one local private school, typically 1–2 days per week. Occasional in-home sessions may also be available within a short drive of the clinic.

Schedule & Location

This is a W-2 hourly position, Monday–Friday. Our clinic is located near Tatum and Shea at 11250 N Tatum Blvd, Suite 104, Phoenix, AZ 85028. Therapy is provided in person; reports and documentation may be completed remotely.

Pay: $60.00 - $70.00 per hour

Benefits:

  • Flexible schedule

  • Paid time off

  • SIMPLE IRA with 3% employer match

  • Work Location: In person, with the opportunity to complete admin tasks (report writing, parent communication, etc.) remotely

  • Real growth path: Build your own caseload across clinic and school settings. As you grow, you have the option to spend more time conducting evaluations, guiding clinical programming, and growing the SLP department.

  • A predictable schedule: Most weeks include one school-based day, not multiple settings and transitions. We've built this role around a sustainable rhythm, not constant switching.

  • Flexibility where it counts: Direct therapy is provided in person, but report writing, parent communication, and other administrative tasks can be completed remotely.

  • Paid indirect time: Report writing, documentation, and parent/teacher communication are compensated at your hourly rate.

  • Competitive compensation: $65-70 per hour, based on experience.

  • Paid time off: Accrued PTO plus paid holidays.

  • Retirement savings: SIMPLE IRA with a 3% employer match.

  • Monthly stipend: Receive $150 per month to put toward insurance or mileage.

  • Professional development funding: Receive a $1,000 annual stipend for CEUs and licensure renewal.

  • Expand your expertise in literacy if you're interested: We offer employer-funded training and certification in evidence-based reading programs, including Orton-Gillingham, for clinicians who would like to develop skills in this area. This opportunity is completely optional.

  • Collaborative, multidisciplinary team: Work alongside other SLPs, academic tutors, teachers, and OTs who coordinate care.

  • Clients come first: Caseload decisions are driven by what's right for kids and families.

  • Perform evaluations to diagnose disorders in speech, language, and communication
  • Engage with faculty and parents to bolster student growth and manage concerns
  • Ensure compliance and reporting by accurately recording student progress
  • Implement therapy strategies to boost students' communication skills
  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology (clinical fellows are welcome to apply).

  • Current AZ state licensure (or eligibility).

  • Strong clinical judgment.

  • Excellent rapport-building skills with children and families.

  • Comfortable balancing clinic-based and school-based work on a consistent weekly schedule.

Preferred:

  • Comfort with occasional in-home sessions.

  • Academic background with a Master's in Speech-Language Pathology
  • Experienced with evidence-based techniques in speech and language therapy
  • Speech-Language Pathologist with active state licensure

Compensation

$60 - $70 hourly

Sophos Academics is an integrated tutoring company serving students ages 5 to 18 in Arizona. We specialize in reading intervention, math support, executive function coaching, and speech/OT therapy, all delivered by a collaborative team working from a single plan for each student.

I started Sophos because struggling students shouldn’t have to piece together support from five places that never talk to each other. After 15+ years in education, I’d watched too many bright, capable kids fall through the cracks between providers. So we built something different.

Every student begins with a diagnostic assessment that looks for root causes, not just symptoms. From there, our specialists build one individualized plan and keep talking to each other, to families, and to schools, so nothing gets siloed. We run the business with complete transparency: families always know exactly what they’re getting and why.

Every student can learn. The approach just has to fit the student.
