Clients include LA Metro, BART, SCAG, OCTA, and LAWA.
We are seeking a detail-oriented, creative, and proactive Part-Time Communications & Project Coordinator to support our growing portfolio of public outreach and communications contracts. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment and is looking to grow with a dynamic small business. Strong performers will have the opportunity to transition to a full-time position.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Project Coordination: Track and manage project tasks, timelines, and deliverables across multiple client contracts; support project managers to keep work on schedule and on budget.
- Communications & Outreach Implementation: Assist in executing communications and public outreach plans, including drafting content, coordinating distribution, supporting community events, and tracking engagement.
- Design & Visual Content (Canva): Create and update professional materials — flyers, social graphics, presentations, reports, one-pagers, and event collateral — using Canva and related tools.
- Presentations & Reports: Develop polished PowerPoint presentations and written reports that communicate project progress, findings, and recommendations to internal teams and public agency clients.
- Tabling & Community Events: Represent Redwood Resources and our clients at community outreach events, information tables, pop-ups, and public meetings; set up materials, engage attendees, and collect data as needed.
- Administrative Support: Maintain project files, contact lists, meeting notes, and trackers; support internal operations as the team scales.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Required
- Experience in community outreach, public engagement, or communications — in a professional or public agency context
- Proficiency in Canva; ability to create polished, on-brand visual materials from scratch or templates
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to write clearly for both public and professional audiences
- Comfortable creating and delivering presentations and written reports
- Experience participating in or staffing tabling events, community meetings, or similar public-facing activities
- Highly organized, dependable, and able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and/or Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides)
- Familiarity with project management tools, particularly Asana |
- Self - management is mandatory
Preferred (Nice to Have)
- Bilingual or multilingual — Spanish, Korean, Chinese, Armenian, or other community languages, a strong plus
- Experience working with or for public agencies (transit, planning, municipal)
- Experience with social media content creation or management
- Background in survey administration, data collection, or community research
COMPENSATION & DETAILS

- Hybrid — Culver City, CA office + remote; some local travel for events
- Compensation
- $35–$45/hour, competitive and commensurate with experience

Responsibilities
Outreach and Project Coordination
- Create workflows and materials for internal client presentations/meetings and external stakeholder engagement
- Coordinate and attend outreach meetings (tablings, presentations)
- Coordinate project schedules, meetings, milestones, and deliverables.
- Track project progress and follow up with team members to ensure deadlines are met.
- Maintain project plans, action logs, and status reports.
- Identify risks, bottlenecks, and dependencies, and escalate issues proactively.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
Reporting & Document Development
- Format and produce professional reports, proposals, presentations, and client deliverables.
- Draft, edit, and proofread written materials, including reports, meeting summaries, correspondence, and project documentation.
- Create standardized templates and document management systems.
- Ensure consistency in branding, formatting, and quality control.
Data Management & Analysis
- Develop and maintain spreadsheets, databases, and tracking systems.
- Create dashboards, pivot tables, charts, and project performance reports.
- Analyze and organize project data to support decision-making.
- Maintain accurate records and project documentation.
Presentation & Visual Communications
- Develop client-ready presentations in PowerPoint, Google Slides, and Canva.
- Create visual reports, graphics, and project summaries.
- Design professional materials for meetings, outreach activities, and executive presentations.
Administrative & Operational Support
- Coordinate calendars, schedules, meetings, and logistics.
- Prepare meeting agendas, materials, and follow-up action items.
- Maintain filing systems across Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, SharePoint, and cloud-based platforms.
- Support process improvement initiatives and workflow management.

Compensation
$30 - $42.5/hour
