Payless Drugs is seeking a collaborative, patient-focused pharmacist to join our Birmingham team on a part-time basis. We are looking for a pharmacist who enjoys being an active member of the operation—not only providing outstanding clinical care, but also helping improve workflow, supporting teammates, participating in administrative responsibilities, and contributing to the overall success of the pharmacy.

Our pharmacists are expected to demonstrate initiative, communicate effectively, and take ownership of the pharmacy during their shift. Success in this role comes from working alongside the team to provide exceptional patient care while maintaining an efficient, well-organized operation.

This position is best suited for a pharmacist who enjoys being actively engaged throughout the workday and takes pride in finding ways to improve patient care, workflow, and team performance.

  • Provide safe, accurate, and timely prescription verification, patient counseling, immunizations, and other pharmacist services in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.

  • Actively manage pharmacy workflow by identifying bottlenecks, prioritizing work, and helping the team maintain an efficient operation throughout the day.

  • Partner with the Pharmacy Manager and staff to complete operational and administrative responsibilities, including audits, inventory management, regulatory compliance, and quality assurance activities.

  • Lead, coach, and support pharmacy technicians by fostering teamwork, accountability, and continuous learning.

  • Participate in clinical and patient care initiatives, including medication therapy management (MTM), adherence programs, immunizations, and other pharmacy services.

  • Demonstrate initiative by identifying opportunities to improve workflow, patient service, operational efficiency, and overall pharmacy performance.

  • Maintain a professional, patient-centered attitude while contributing positively to the culture and success of the pharmacy team.

  • Pharmacist degree and current Alabama Pharmacist license in good standing.

  • Current immunization certification and Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification, or ability to obtain promptly upon hire.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead pharmacy workflow, prioritize competing responsibilities, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills with a commitment to teamwork and exceptional patient care.

  • Self-motivated with a proven ability to take initiative, accept ownership of responsibilities, and contribute to the overall success of the pharmacy.
