Position Summary

We are a premier private immigration law firm based in Miami, Florida, seeking an experienced, full-time Immigration Paralegal to join our team on-site. This role focuses on a robust caseload of family-based immigration, naturalization, residency applications, and removal defense/asylum cases. You will handle both affirmative agency filings and defensive court proceedings, ensuring high-quality legal support for clients. Hands-on experience navigating USCIS, EOIR, and ECAS is required.

Affirmative Casework (USCIS)

  • Prepare and file family-based petitions, including I-130, I-485, and I-751 forms.

  • Manage applications for naturalization (N-400) and certificate of citizenship processes.

  • Compile and draft residency applications, consular processing packages, and waiver requests (I-601A/I-601).

  • Track USCIS case statuses, respond to Requests for Evidence (RFEs), and prepare clients for interviews.

Defensive Casework (EOIR / Miami Immigration Court)

  • Manage removal defense files, including applications for Asylum, Withholding of Removal, and CAT.

  • Prepare applications for Cancellation of Removal (EOIR-42B) and motions to reopen or terminate.

  • Execute electronic filings, upload evidence, and monitor court dockets using the ECAS platform.

  • Maintain the firm's master calendar to guarantee zero missed court or filing deadlines.

Client Relations

  • Conduct initial client intakes and regular follow-ups to gather supporting documents and testimonies.

  • Draft detailed client declarations, index files, and translations for evidence packages.

Required Experience

  • Professional Experience: 3 to 4 years of experience as an immigration paralegal in a private law firm setting.

  • System Proficiency: Demonstrated proficiency with USCIS filing procedures and electronic EOIR/ECAS court systems.

  • Case History: Documented history of processing family petitions, adjustments, and court-bound asylum applications.

Skills & Attributes

  • Work Style: Sharp attention to detail and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

  • Language: Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish (or another high-demand language in the Miami market) is highly preferred.

  • Software: Experience with immigration case management platforms (e.g., Clio, Docketwise, Cerenade)

Compensation

$26 - $28 hourly
