What You'll Do

As a Family Law Paralegal, you'll play a critical role in supporting attorneys and clients throughout all stages of family law matters, including:

• Divorce and legal separation
• Child custody and parenting time disputes
• Child support matters
• Spousal maintenance/alimony
• Post-decree modifications
• Domestic abuse and Order for Protection matters
• Mediation and settlement preparation
• Litigation and trial preparation

• Manage a high-volume family law caseload with accuracy and attention to detail
• Draft pleadings, motions, affidavits, discovery requests, and correspondence
• Prepare financial disclosures and organize supporting documentation
• Coordinate court filings and ensure compliance with deadlines
• Communicate regularly with clients regarding case status and next steps
• Schedule hearings, mediations, depositions, and attorney-client meetings
• Assist attorneys with case strategy, trial preparation, and exhibits
• Maintain accurate case records and documentation within firm systems
• Work collaboratively with attorneys and team members to ensure exceptional client service

Required

• 2+ years of family law paralegal experience
• Strong knowledge of family court procedures and litigation processes
• Experience drafting legal documents with minimal supervision
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
• Close attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
• Proficiency with legal technology and case management software

Preferred

• Paralegal certificate or degree
• Experience in a high-volume family law practice
• Experience preparing trial exhibits and hearing materials
• Familiarity with Clio or similar case management platforms
