Operations Production Manager - Custom Signs

Signarama • Charleston, SC, US

Posted 2 hours ago

You've run operations where every job is custom: in a sign shop, a large-format print shop, or a custom commercial construction company. You know one wrong measurement on a one-off job costs the customer money; you've stood on a job site figuring out why something doesn't fit the space, and you're the one who finds a way to get it done anyway. Signarama of Charleston is hiring an Operations Production Manager to own every job once it's sold, from the first design file through production and install.

The person who does well here has led designers, production staff, or install crews, and has done it on custom work. Sign industry experience is the strongest fit. Details decide this job: if a sign goes between two posts, it fits between those posts exactly. You'll put direction in writing clearly enough that the team can follow it on a job they've never done, and when you tell a customer or a crew something will happen, it happens.

For 13 years, Signarama of Charleston has designed, built, and installed custom signs across the Charleston area and beyond. We're a hall-of-fame Signarama location ranked among the top shops worldwide, and a lot of our work is the complicated, one-off projects other sign companies turn down. We work hard, we hustle, and we take pride in what we build.

Full-time, on-site in Mount Pleasant, SC, with relocation assistance for candidates moving to the area. Leads the design, production, and installation team.

WHAT THE WORK LOOKS LIKE

Every day starts with a team meeting. After that, it's a mix of shop, phone, and job site. You'll check work orders against the approved mockup, stage install kits, and rework the schedule when someone's out, or an installer runs late. On site, you help work out the details with the superintendent and help determine what happens when we find electrical buried right where the sign is supposed to go. Designers, production staff, and installers do most of the hands-on work, but this is a small team, and you'll get your hands dirty when the job calls for it

WHO BELONGS HERE

  • Details matter to you, and you notice the measurement that's off before anyone else does.

  • You're action-oriented and get things done without waiting to be asked.

  • People know you as direct and to the point.

  • Customers and crews can rely on you because you follow through every time.

  • Honesty comes first for you, especially when something has gone wrong.

  • Your written instructions are clear enough that nobody has to call to ask what you meant.

  • Making a decision with incomplete information doesn't rattle you.

  • You're a natural teacher who wants the people around you to get better.

  • Pride in the work drives you, and you want every sign you're responsible for to hold up for years.

Compensation

$80,000 yearly

Signarama of Charleston is a locally owned sign shop in Mount Pleasant, and we’ve been making signs for our neighbors across the Charleston area for years. That might be a banner for a grand opening, channel letters on a storefront, or directory signs for an entire office park. Every sign we make is custom. We get to know each customer’s business and build something that fits who they are. Since our third week in business, the price we quote has been the price our customers pay. That’s a big reason property managers call us first and send their tenants our way, and why so many of our customers have stayed with us for years. We’re proud to be a hall-of-fame Signarama location, and what we care about most is that our customers never have to think twice about their signage.
