General Manager & Future Equity Partner – Sound Move Solutions (Seattle Area)

We’re looking for a moving professional who wants more than a paycheck. We want someone ready to run the business, grow it, and earn ownership along the way. This isn’t a typical management job. The founder will be a silent partner who checks in quarterly. Day to day, this is your company to lead.

The opportunity:

• Step into an operating business with existing trucks, crew, and recurring work

• Grow into a niche market: moves for home staging companies, plus small residential and commercial moves

• Earn equity over time as you build the company

• Make the decisions. You set the direction, and the founder supports you from the background.

Operations

• Run daily operations: scheduling, dispatch, crew assignments, and fleet management

• Make sure every move is safe, on time, and handled with care, especially high-value staging furniture and décor

• Manage truck leases, equipment, supplies, and vendor relationships

• Keep the company compliant with Washington household goods mover regulations, DOT requirements, and insurance

Sales & Growth

• Keep and strengthen our relationship with a large staging company, our anchor client

• Win new contracts with other staging companies, designers, and real estate professionals

• Develop and close small residential and commercial moving work

• Price jobs, write estimates, and build repeat business

People & Training

• Lead, hire, and develop a crew of 10 and grow the team as demand increases

• Build training programs for safe handling, furniture protection, and customer service

• Create a culture where good movers want to stay

Business Management

• Own the P&L, budgeting, and financial performance

• Set up systems for booking, invoicing, and tracking

• Prepare quarterly reviews for the founding partner

• Several years of experience in the moving industry, including leadership or operations management

• A proven sales record, comfortable both building relationships and closing deals

• Experience training and managing crews

• Working knowledge of mover compliance, safety, and licensing

• Comfort with numbers: pricing, budgets, and profitability

• An entrepreneurial mindset. You act like an owner because you want to be one.

• Bonus: experience with staging, high-end furniture, or white-glove moves

Sound Move Solutions is a new Seattle-area moving company launching with a real head start. You’ll have 3 trucks, a trained crew of 10, and a steady base of work from day one through our partner company, a large home staging company. We specialize in the moves other companies overlook: staging furniture and décor, plus small residential and commercial jobs that need careful, reliable crews. We’re building a company where great movers want to stay and where the person who leads it shares in its success.
