Join a litigation firm that takes cases that matter, with a real path to becoming a paralegal. We will invest in and train the right candidate, and you will be a dependable, key part of a small team doing meaningful work.

Why join us

  • Growth. A path to a paralegal role, with training and support along the way.

  • Meaningful work. Our cases challenge state law, hold private prisons accountable, obtain justice in wrongful death and catastrophic injury cases, and protect people and businesses from complex fraud.

  • A life outside the office. About 38 to 40 hours a week, three weeks of paid time off, and an early 2:00 p.m. close on Fridays when urgent work is complete.

  • Strong benefits. The firm pays in full for dental, vision, disability, and life insurance, and contributes to health coverage.

About us

The Dreyer Firm handles both hourly and contingency cases, which lets us choose cases on their merits. Alongside our impact work, we have a steady stream of business and commercial disputes and a strong record of excellent results at a good value for clients. All of our cases come to us by reputation and referral. We are growing strategically, and we treat everyone at our firm with dignity and respect. That is non-negotiable.

How we work

The standard is excellent work product and winning for our clients, which means careful attention to detail and meeting every deadline. We do not manufacture urgency or treat long hours as a measure of commitment. Trial preparation or a major court deadline may require more, but not more than three or four times a year. When a case requires more, everyone contributes. Otherwise, we want you to spend time with the people who matter to you.

The role

The right candidate will be:

  • Dependable with office operations. Opening the office in the morning, handling and scanning the mail, answering calls and making sure phones are covered, sending letters, certified mail, and overnight packages, and ordering supplies.

  • Client-focused. Making potential and current clients feel comfortable and heard, getting their information to the right person, and following up internally until the client gets a response.

  • Highly organized. Tracking multiple tasks through completion and following up with busy team members to get what you need.

  • Detail-oriented. Producing work that is as close to perfect as possible, from formatting a letter exactly to the template to scanning, filing, and sending it with no errors.

Compensation and benefits

  • Starting salary of $37,500 to $50,000, depending on experience and accomplishments

  • Health insurance, with the firm paying 50% of the premium for individual coverage under most plans and 25% to 40% for family and dependent plans

  • Dental, vision, short- and long-term disability, and life insurance, with premiums paid in full by the firm

  • Paid parental leave

  • Three weeks of paid time off per year

  • Early office closure at 2:00 p.m. on Fridays when urgent work is complete

  • Payment of dues and fees related to the position

  • A retirement plan, which the firm is implementing by January 2027

  • Training and advancement opportunities, including a path to paralegal

Compensation

$50,000

We handle both hourly and contingency fee cases, which gives us latitude to choose cases on their merits.

We are currently handling numerous cases challenging state law, holding private prisons accountable, obtaining justice for a wrongful death or catastrophic injury, and protecting people and businesses from complex fraud schemes.

Most importantly, we focus on obtaining meaningful results for clients and on improving our communities and country. This is the work we are built around.

We also have a consistent stream of business and commercial disputes, and we have a strong record of achieving excellent results at a good value for clients. In just the last two years, we tried a complex business dispute before a jury and won on every count, including an attorneys’ fees award, and we have obtained several large settlements.

We are small and flexible, and all of our cases have come to us by reputation and referral. We want to strategically grow and make a bigger impact.
