Sales Manager and Trainer
Modern Law is Arizona’s largest and fastest-growing family law firm, with six offices across the Phoenix metro and Tucson. We need a Sales Manager and Trainer to lead and develop the client advocate team that turns calls and consultations into clients.
The clients we serve are often going through the hardest time of their lives. We need someone who can teach a team and develop a program that can handle the hundreds of calls we get each week.
What You’ll Do
Coach and train our intake team on calls, follow-up, and closing
Build a training program that supports the growth and scaling nature of the firm
Review calls and consultations and give direct, specific feedback
Track conversion rates and use the numbers to fix what isn’t working
Work with marketing to improve lead quality and follow-up
What You’ll Do
Build the sales system
Design a repeatable sales process, from first contact to signed retainer, that works the same way in every office
Document it: playbooks, call guides, follow-up sequences, objection handling, and handoff steps, written so a new hire in a new market can follow them without you in the room
Set the standards for response time, follow-up, and conversion, and build the reporting to track them
Choose and set up the tools, CRM workflows, and automations that let the team handle more leads without adding headcount at the same rate
Make the system flexible enough to cover new practice areas, like estate planning and probate, and new states with different rules
Prepare For Growth
Build a plan to launch sales in new markets, in Arizona and in other states, including personnel, training, and targets for the first 90 days
Create a hiring profile and interview process for sales and intake roles so we hire the right people as we grow
Train future sales leads who can run the system in their own markets
Train & Coach The Team
Run onboarding so new hires are taking calls with confidence within their first few weeks
Listen to calls and consultations every week and give direct, specific feedback
Hold regular one-on-ones and role-play sessions
Teach the team where the line is between explaining our services and giving legal advice, and hold them to it
Track Results
Report weekly on lead volume, consults booked, show rate, retainers signed, and revenue per lead, by office and by source
Find where leads drop off and fix the process, not just the person
Set team and individual targets and hold people accountable
Work Across the Firm
Work with marketing on which lead sources produce retained clients
Coordinate with attorneys so the handoff from sale to case is smooth
What You Bring
Required
At least five years in sales, with at least three years managing and training a sales team
Experience building a sales process from scratch, including the playbooks, training, and reporting, not just running one someone else built
A track record of improving a team’s close rate, with numbers to show it
Experience hiring and developing sales reps who went on to perform without you
Strong working knowledge of CRMs, call tracking, and sales reporting, and comfort building dashboards and reading the data
Clear, calm communication, especially with people under stress
Strong writing skills, since you’ll be documenting the system for others to follow
Preferred
Experience scaling sales across multiple offices or launching in new markets
Background in legal, medical, financial, or other high-ticket consultative sales where the buyer is making an emotional decision
Experience with legal intake software or automation tools
Experience training managers, not just reps
Who You Are
You’d rather build something that runs without you than be the person everyone depends on
You fix the process before you blame the person
You can lead with empathy and still hold a team to its numbers
You’re comfortable with change and can build while the firm is growing
Compensation
$110,000 yearly
