Team Lead/Team Captain — Mortgage Origination 

We are seeking a highly organized, proactive, and experienced Team Lead/Team Captain to support and manage the day-to-day origination operations for a high-producing mortgage Loan Officer. This role is designed for someone who can lead file workflow, manage communication systems, support referral partner relationships, coordinate team activity, and help remove operational friction so the Loan Officer can stay focused on production and business development.

The ideal candidate has strong mortgage experience, excellent communication skills, deep knowledge of investor guidelines, and the ability to manage priorities under pressure. This person must be comfortable stepping into key sales and operational moments, including loan consultations, rate lock consultations, referral partner communication, borrower updates, and post-closing follow-up.

This is a leadership role for someone who takes ownership, protects the team’s standards, and helps create an exceptional client and referral partner experience.

• Manage the Loan Officer’s daily origination workflow, team communication, pipeline priorities, and file movement from lead through closing and post-closing follow-up.
• Strengthen Referral Partner Relationships.
• Drive Team Performance and Accountability.
• Lead or support daily, weekly, and monthly team meetings, including pipeline review, training, and team alignment.
• Maintain a clear understanding of all team job descriptions, responsibilities, and performance measurements.
• Support the entire team in all scenarios and help create a culture of ownership, communication, and accountability.
• Oversee the borrower journey from lead through long-term client relationship management.
• Help increase the Loan Officer’s prospecting capacity by reducing operational friction and protecting focused business development time.

• 5+ years of mortgage loan partner, loan origination, or mortgage operations experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of DU, LP, AUS findings, mortgage documentation, and loan structuring.
• Proficiency with Encompass.
• Strong understanding of major investor guidelines and loan programs.
• Ability to price, lock, and structure loans accurately.
• Highly detail-oriented, deadline-driven, and able to work under pressure.
• Strong time management, organization, and prioritization skills.
• Dependable, self-motivated, and able to work with minimal supervision.
• Positive attitude and growth-minded leadership approach.
