Posted 19 hours ago
We are seeking a driven, detail-oriented, and highly personable Loan Partner 2 (LP2) to manage borrower prequalification, pre-approvals, and pipeline execution for a high-performing mortgage team. The LP2 plays a critical role in ensuring loans are structured properly, communicated clearly, and closed on time.
This role works closely with the Loan Officer, borrowers, processors, underwriters, and third-party partners to maintain 95%+ on-time closings while delivering a concierge-level experience to borrowers and referral partners.
This is also a unique opportunity to get in on the ground floor of a high-growth mortgage company. As one of our earliest team members, the right person will have the opportunity to help shape our culture, systems, and client experience while growing alongside the company. We are looking for someone who is excited not only to excel in the LP2 role today, but to become an important part of what we are building for the future.
Prequalify
Serve as a knowledgeable, responsive resource for borrowers and referral partners, including questions involving condo warrantability, bank statement loans, recasting, and general loan structuring
Review borrower applications, credit, income, assets, liabilities, and supporting documentation to assess qualification and overall loan readiness
Identify potential challenges early, explore viable financing solutions, and escalate significant issues to the Loan Officer when appropriate
Communicate clearly, warmly, accurately, and compliantly with borrowers, Realtors, financial advisors, builders, attorneys, and other partners
Pre-Approve
Accurately structure and pre-approve qualified borrowers based on applicable agency, investor, and loan program guidelines
Clearly communicate approval terms, estimated payments, cash-to-close requirements, and next steps to borrowers
Issue pre-approval documentation promptly, notify referral partners of approvals or material changes, and expedite time-sensitive requests
Proactively stay in touch with pre-approved buyers and identify qualification or documentation concerns before they enter into contract
Pipeline Management
Take ownership of assigned files through closing, performing daily pipeline reviews to identify deadlines, choke points, and loans requiring attention
Coordinate proactively with borrowers, processors, underwriters, Realtors, attorneys, closing attorneys/title companies, and other parties to keep transactions moving
Deliver consistent borrower and referral partner updates, resolve issues whenever possible before LO escalation, and help ensure 95%+ of loans close on time
Review closing documentation, conduct pre-closing and funding calls, and provide appropriate post-closing and urgent transaction support
Additional Role Expectations
Communicate with warmth, enthusiasm, professionalism, and confidence in every borrower and referral partner interaction
Maintain exceptional organization, responsiveness, follow-through, and attention to detail while consistently exceeding client expectations
Stay current on agency, investor, and loan program guidelines and continually strengthen product knowledge
Take ownership, solve problems proactively, and look for opportunities to improve team systems, processes, and the overall client experience
Active NMLS Mortgage Loan Originator license required
5+ years of hands-on mortgage experience in loan origination, loan officer assistance, processing, underwriting, or a similar role
Strong working knowledge of Conventional, FHA, VA, Jumbo, and Non-QM loan programs, with the ability to confidently navigate agency and investor guidelines
Proficient with DU/DO, Loan Product Advisor (LP), and major Loan Origination Systems
Highly comfortable with technology and remote collaboration, including Zoom, Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, cloud-based systems, and learning new software and workflows quickly
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with a warm, upbeat, professional style that builds confidence with borrowers and referral partners
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive, with excellent prioritization, follow-through, and the ability to manage multiple time-sensitive files without constant oversight
Resourceful problem-solver who takes ownership, collaborates well across departments, and knows when to solve an issue independently versus escalate it
Current on applicable mortgage regulations, compliance requirements, and required industry training
Compensation
$60,000 base with potential per-file bonus
