We are seeking an experienced, driven Mobile Tire Operations Manager who is also an absolute "guru" when it comes to everything tire-related. In this role, you will lead our daily operations, manage our fleet of specialized service vehicles, and mentor our growing team of technicians. More importantly, you will serve as the company's definitive technical authority—the ultimate expert for complex fitments, advanced troubleshooting, and quality control. You will oversee everything from scheduling and logistics to ensuring flawless mechanical execution on everything from low-profile sports cars to large off-road 38" truck tires.

Resident Tire & Technical Authority (The "Guru" Role)

• Act as the company’s go-to technical expert for complex tire mechanics, load ratings, speed ratings, and unique vehicle fitments—from exotic low-profiles to commercial box trucks and large off-road pickup truck tires.

• Provide expert guidance and hands-on solutions for challenging scenarios like stubborn bead seals, specialized aftermarket wheel configurations, and advanced wheel vibration diagnosis.

• Set the standard for mechanical excellence, training and mentoring the team on proper mounting, dynamic balancing, accurate torque specs, and precise TPMS resets.

Operations & Fleet Management

• Oversee daily scheduling, dispatching, and route optimization for our branded mobile service vans across the Des Moines metro and surrounding communities.

• Ensure all mobile installation units are fully stocked with inventory (tires, TPMS sensors, weights) and equipped with properly maintained, top-of-the-line tire machines and balancers.

• Monitor van utilization, inventory levels, and equipment upkeep to prevent downtime.

Team Leadership & Quality Control

• Train, mentor, and supervise mobile tire technicians, instilling a high standard of safety and technical craftsmanship.

• Conduct regular performance reviews and champion a positive, customer-first team culture.

• Spot-check on-site jobs to ensure quality control, guaranteeing that technicians properly inspect tires for wear, damage, and inflation issues with absolute precision.

Customer Care & Administration

• Serve as the primary point of contact for escalated customer service inquiries, complex technical questions, fleet accounts, and service guarantees.

• Foster strong, lasting relationships with retail customers and local commercial/B2B partners by demonstrating unmatched industry knowledge.

• Manage daily administrative tasks, including digital service ticketing, invoicing review, warranty processing, and tracking KPIs (turnaround times, route efficiency, revenue generation).

Qualifications & Requirements

• Industry Experience & "Guru" Status: Extensive hands-on experience in the tire shop industry. You are widely recognized as an expert in tire mechanics and wheel service.

• Technical Proficiency: Deep mastery of tire mechanics, wheel balancing, TPMS diagnostics, and varied vehicle fitments. (TIA certification is a strong asset).

• Leadership & Operational Skills: Strong logistical mindset capable of dynamic routing and scheduling adjustments based on Central Iowa weather and traffic conditions, paired with a proven ability to lead and mentor a team.

• Driver’s License: Clear background check and a valid driver’s license with a clean motor vehicle record (MVR).

• Physical & Communication Skills: Ability to regularly lift heavy tires and equipment, paired with exceptional, professional communication skills to interact with clients and lead your staff.
