Litigation Paralegal (Mid-Level), Civil Litigation: Real Estate & Probate

Khan Law, P.A. seeks a full-time, mid-level Litigation Paralegal to support our attorneys in a busy civil litigation practice focused on real estate and probate matters. The ideal candidate is organized, deadline-driven, and comfortable managing litigation files from intake through resolution. Experience with real estate or probate litigation is a plus, but candidates with solid general civil litigation experience are encouraged to apply.

Paralegals assist attorneys in all aspects of preparing and managing litigation files for clients and serve as a liaison between the attorney and the Court, the attorney and the client, and the attorney and opposing counsel.

• Draft basic motions, discovery, and proposed orders in a civil practice

• Prepare discovery responses and organize document productions

• Determine deadlines, calendar events, and support attorneys to ensure no deadline is missed

• Check dockets on active cases and offer an assessment of the next step

• E-file in Florida state courts and federal courts

• Schedule hearings with opposing counsel's offices and judges' chambers

• Prepare attorneys for court appearances (in person and remote), including preparing the case file, arranging court reporters, confirming the parties' attendance, and ensuring the judge's procedures are followed

• Communicate with clients, provide case status updates, and help build strong client relationships

• Draft letters to clients and opposing counsel on administrative matters within the case

• Schedule client consultations with the assigned attorney

• Prepare reports on case status, legal work, and client communication

• Use the firm's case management software (training provided as needed)

• Learn and follow firm policies and procedures, and work well with other team members on shared matters

• Associate's Degree or Bachelor's Degree

• 3+ years of paralegal experience in civil litigation

• Paralegal Certification or equivalent relevant experience

• Previous law firm experience

• Writing Sample: a motion and a letter/email communication

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products

• Experience with a case management system

• Excellent verbal and written communication

• Dependability and professionalism

• Self-starter who can manage a caseload with minimal supervision

• Strong attention to detail and organization

• General understanding of the Florida Rules of Civil Procedure, Appellate Procedure, and General Practice and Judicial Administration, and the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with real estate litigation (e.g., foreclosure, quiet title, partition, landlord-tenant, contract disputes)

• Experience with probate litigation or estate administration

• Customer service background

• Legal research experience

• Bilingual in English and Spanish
