Certified Medical Assistant - FULL TIME, PART TIME OR PRN POSITION

Join Aeris Lung and Sleep in Austin, TX, as a Certified Medical Assistant and become an important part of our new outpatient pulmonary and sleep medicine practice. You’ll work alongside a dedicated clinical team led by a board-certified internist and pulmonologist, with a shared commitment to providing compassionate, high-quality patient care. Our clinic provides comprehensive, whole-person care for respiratory diseases, asthma, COPD, and sleep disorders — pairing the latest diagnostics with compassionate, personalized treatment for every patient.

  • Assist physicians and healthcare providers with patient examinations and procedures, ensuring a seamless and supportive experience for all involved.
  • Manage patient records with accuracy and confidentiality, keeping our practice organized and efficient.
  • Coordinate patient appointments and follow-ups, ensuring timely and effective communication with our patients.
  • Administer medications and treatments as directed by healthcare providers, contributing to our commitment to high-quality patient care.
  • Educate patients and their families on treatment plans and health maintenance, empowering them with the knowledge to manage their health effectively.
  • Perform routine clinical tasks such as taking vital signs and collecting specimens, supporting our diagnostic and treatment processes.
  • Maintain a clean and safe clinical environment, adhering to all health and safety regulations to protect our patients and team members alike.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • Current BLS certification or a willingness to obtain certification within 30 days of hire.

Current certification as one of the following:

  • Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA)
  • Registered Medical Assistant (RMA – AMT)
  • Clinical Medical Assistant Certification (CMAC – AMCA)
  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA – AAMA)
  • National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA)
  • Candidates actively working toward one of the certifications above and expecting to complete certification within 90 days are encouraged to apply.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with EMR systems, prior authorizations, referrals, and insurance workflows.
  • Strong computer and technology skills.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish
  • 3+ years of outpatient medical assistant experience.
  • Experience in pulmonology, sleep medicine, or another specialty clinic.
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Reliable transportation.

Compensation

$20 - $27 hourly

We are launching a new outpatient pulmonary and sleep medicine practice serving patients in the Austin and Leander communities. Our clinical team is led by a board-certified internist and pulmonologist dedicated to providing compassionate, high-quality specialty care.
