Rutkowski Law Firm is seeking a compassionate, highly organized, and detail-oriented Senior Medicaid Planning Specialist to guide clients through one of the most important and emotional times in their lives.
This role is responsible for managing Medicaid planning and Medicaid application matters from engagement through approval while delivering an exceptional client experience. The ideal candidate combines technical knowledge with empathy, strong communication skills, and a commitment to operational excellence.

Responsibilities
As our Senior Medicaid Planning Specialist, you will manage Medicaid planning cases from start to finish, serving as the primary point of contact for clients while ensuring every case is handled with accuracy, compassion, and efficiency.
You will gather and analyze financial documentation, prepare Medicaid applications and legal documents, coordinate with the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services, nursing facilities, financial institutions, and other professionals, and keep clients informed throughout the process.
Working closely with our attorneys, you will help implement Medicaid planning strategies, maintain organized case files, monitor deadlines, and identify opportunities to improve systems and workflows.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate is a compassionate, detail-oriented professional with a passion for helping families navigate the Medicaid planning process. Candidates should possess:
A minimum of 3 years of experience in Medicaid planning, elder law, estate planning, or a related legal field.
Strong knowledge of Michigan Medicaid eligibility rules, application procedures, and asset protection strategies (preferred).
Excellent organizational, time management, and multitasking skills with the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex information clearly and compassionately.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, including the ability to review financial records and identify documentation needs.
High attention to detail and a commitment to producing accurate, high-quality work.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal case management software.
The ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with attorneys and team members.
A client-focused mindset with a commitment to delivering exceptional service and creating a positive client experience.
A growth mindset, strong work ethic, and a willingness to embrace new technology, systems, and continuous improvement.
Preferred Qualifications
Paralegal certificate, associate's degree, or bachelor's degree.
Experience with estate planning, trusts, probate, or long-term care planning.
Familiarity with Clio, Lawmatics, or other legal practice management software.
Compensation
$55,000 - $70,000/year
