We are seeking a highly skilled Electro-Mechanical Maintenance Technician who enjoys solving mysteries such as:
- “Why did the conveyor stop?”
- “Who pushed the emergency stop again?”
- “Why is there Queso Dip in the control panel?”
Your primary mission will be keeping our food production equipment running while production insists “it was working five minutes ago.”
Daily Responsibilities
- Fix machines that worked perfectly until you walked away.
- Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and occasionally human problems.
- Replace sensors that mysteriously get hit by forklifts.
- Explain to production why duct tape is not an approved repair method.
- Interpret cryptic PLC alarms that say things like: “Error 47: Something Somewhere Is Wrong.”
Required Skills
- Ability to diagnose electrical issues using a multimeter and pure intuition.
- Must know the difference between: a VFD. a PLC, and a machine operator pressing every button at once
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in food manufacturing or surviving production managers during downtime.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to function on coffee and questionable vending machine snacks.
Bonus Points If You Can
- Fix a machine while five people watch silently behind you.
Final Requirement
Must possess patience, mechanical skill, electrical knowledge, and the emotional strength to hear:
“Maintenance touched it last.”
Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on food processing and packaging equipment to ensure optimal performance
- Troubleshoot equipment issues promptly to minimize downtime and maintain production efficiency
- Collaborate with team members to implement preventive maintenance programs, enhancing equipment longevity
- Ensure compliance with safety and food safety standards, contributing to a secure work environment
- Maintain and monitor boiler and ammonia refrigeration systems, ensuring they operate safely and efficiently
- Document maintenance activities accurately, providing clear records for future reference and audits
- Assist in the installation and commissioning of new equipment, supporting our growth and innovation initiatives
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Ability to safely perform maintenance tasks following training and authorization
- Ability to comply with LOTO, electrical safety, and confined space requirements
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED; technical or trade school preferred
- Prior experience in food manufacturing or regulated environments
- Experience with preventive maintenance programs
- Designation as an OSHA-defined authorized employee for LOTO
- Confined space entry training
- Electrical safety or NFPA 70E awareness training
- Familiarity with boiler systems and wastewater treatment operations
- Experience working in SQF or BRCGS-certified facilities
Compensation
$2/hour
