Responsibilities
- Must be reliable
- Technical skills and knowledge of various crafts such as carpentry, plumbing, electrical, drywall, and concrete repair, painting, and working knowledge of RO plant and Wastewater facility functionality
- Perform routine maintenance on equipment and systems such as plumbing fixtures, and electrical wiring to ensure optimal performance and make any repairs
- Strong knowledge of building trades, mechanical, cleaning procedures, and all-around maintenance
- Ability to perform routine minor repairs typically associated with a condo building and grounds
- Ability to read technical manuals/instructions/drawings
- Experience using a variety of hand tools
- Ability to use tools effectively and safely
- Demonstrate honesty and integrity
- Ability to work well with others
- Comply with all health and safety regulations and practices on-site
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Great time management skills
- Create an environment that promotes the association’s culture and values daily
- Adhere to the association’s values to ensure that all team members continually focus on the best interests of the association
- Work with other team members to provide assistance if needed
- On-call and available to respond to after-hours Emergencies, ie, lack of water, grey water, electric, septic, fire, or injury
- Other duties assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor, General Manager, or Board of Directors
- Keep a record of completed repairs and when equipment was last serviced
- Examine building windows, walls, and doors for damage and perform repairs when needed
- Take additional maintenance requests as assigned
- Plan and implement preventative maintenance procedures to maximize equipment operations and minimize safety risks
Qualifications
Knowledge of building trades and maintenance, to include:
- Basic Plumbing, electrical, painting, carpentry, landscaping, and machinery skills to complete repairs to maintain the grounds, facilities, equipment, and amenities of the Condominium Association
- Over 2 years of maintenance experience
- Needs to have availability to respond on nights and weekends to on-call maintenance requests
- Stellar communication skills, attention to detail, and work ethic
- Should be able to demonstrate understanding of heating and air conditioning units, plumbing systems, and electrical systems
- Strong understanding of maintenance equipment, techniques and procedures
Compensation
$18 - $22/hour
About Coakley Bay Condominium Association
We are a 100-unit condominium complex located on the famous East End of St. Croix, outside of Christiansted, USVI. Naturally, we’re biased, but we think this is just about the best place to live or visit on St. Croix -- and maybe in the whole Virgin Islands!
Unlike most other communities, we provide a full-time office, maintenance, and landscaping staff to look after the buildings, grounds, and pool for the property owners.
