The Forge Hotel is seeking a dependable, self-motivated, and detail-oriented Full-Time Maintenance Technician to help maintain the quality, safety, and appearance of our hotel. This individual plays a vital role in ensuring our guests enjoy a clean, comfortable, and well-maintained property while supporting all hotel departments with maintenance and repair needs.

The ideal candidate is proactive, takes pride in their work, has strong troubleshooting skills, and enjoys working in a hospitality environment where no two days are the same.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Guest Rooms

  • Perform preventative maintenance in guest rooms.
  • Repair plumbing fixtures, including sinks, toilets, showers, and faucets.
  • Repair or replace light fixtures, switches, outlets, and electrical components.
  • Touch up paint, repair drywall, and complete minor carpentry repairs.
  • Repair or replace door hardware, locks, and weather stripping.
  • Maintain heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) units.
  • Ensure televisions, Chromecasts, telephones, and other room equipment are functioning properly.
  • Respond promptly to guest maintenance requests.

Hotel Facilities

  • Inspect the property daily to identify maintenance needs.
  • Maintain the swimming pool, hot tub, and surrounding equipment according to health and safety standards.
  • Monitor boilers, water heaters, HVAC systems, and mechanical equipment.
  • Replace filters and perform scheduled preventative maintenance.
  • Maintain elevators by coordinating with contracted service providers.
  • Ensure emergency lighting, exit signs, and fire safety equipment remain operational.
  • Perform snow removal, sidewalk maintenance, and seasonal grounds upkeep as needed.
  • Maintain parking lots, landscaping, irrigation systems, and exterior lighting.

Preventative Maintenance

  • Follow the hotel's preventative maintenance schedule.
  • Keep accurate maintenance logs and repair records.
  • Monitor equipment performance to reduce unexpected breakdowns.
  • Recommend repairs or replacement of aging equipment.

Safety & Compliance

  • Maintain OSHA and Best Western safety standards.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Properly store chemicals and maintenance supplies.
  • Immediately report safety hazards.
  • Participate in emergency procedures when necessary.

General Responsibilities

  • Assist other departments with special projects and room setups.
  • Move furniture and equipment for meetings and events.
  • Maintain the maintenance shop organization and cleanliness.
  • Order and organize maintenance supplies with approval.
  • Assist housekeeping with deep cleaning projects when needed.
  • Be available for occasional evenings, weekends, holidays, and emergency call-outs.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of two years of maintenance experience preferred.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to safely operate maintenance tools and equipment.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Hotel maintenance experience.
  • Pool Operator Certification (or willingness to obtain).
  • HVAC certification is a plus.

Compensation

$16 - $20/hour
