Harper Law Firm is seeking an experienced Personal Injury Litigation Paralegal with strong, hands-on litigation experience to support attorneys through all phases of contested personal injury matters. The ideal candidate has independently managed a litigation docket, understands Texas litigation procedure and deadlines, and can move cases forward from filing through discovery, depositions, mediation, trial preparation, and resolution. This full-time, in-person San Antonio role requires a proactive, highly organized, deadline-driven paralegal who can manage a high-volume litigation caseload with minimal supervision.

  • Support attorneys through all phases of personal injury litigation, from filing suit through trial preparation and resolution

  • Independently manage a high-volume litigation docket, including court, discovery, expert, hearing, deposition, mediation, and trial deadlines

  • Draft pleadings, motions, notices, subpoenas, affidavits, discovery requests and responses, and other litigation documents for attorney review

  • File lawsuits and pleadings through applicable Texas e-filing systems and coordinate issuance and timely service of process

  • Prepare, serve, track, and assist with responses to interrogatories, requests for production, requests for admissions, and disclosures

  • Calendar and calculate litigation deadlines and proactively communicate upcoming deadlines to the legal team

  • Schedule and coordinate depositions, mediations, hearings, inspections, expert matters, and trial-related events

  • Prepare attorneys for depositions, mediations, hearings, and trial, including exhibits, witness materials, medical records, timelines, and case summaries

  • Maintain complete litigation files in the firm case-management system, ensuring pleadings, discovery, correspondence, evidence, and court documents are current and properly organized

  • Order, review, organize, and summarize medical records, bills, and damages documentation

  • Maintain consistent client communication and provide timely case-status updates throughout litigation

  • Proactively identify missing evidence, records, discovery, service issues, or other items that could delay litigation and complete necessary follow-up

  • Assist with settlement documentation, liens, payout preparation, and case closing after resolution

  • Anticipate next steps and keep cases moving without repeated direction from the supervising attorney

  • Contribute to continuous improvement of litigation procedures, checklists, templates, and workflows

  • Must be able to work on-site at the San Antonio office during standard business hours

  • Demonstrated ability to independently manage a high-volume litigation docket with minimal supervision

  • Strong working knowledge of the Texas Rules of Civil Procedure and litigation deadlines

  • Hands-on experience with Texas e-filing systems, service of process, discovery, deposition coordination, mediation, and trial preparation

  • Ability to draft litigation documents accurately and efficiently for attorney review

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal case-management software; Filevine experience is a plus

  • Exceptional task management, calendaring, organization, and follow-through

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with attorneys, clients, opposing counsel, courts, vendors, and experts

  • Ability to identify issues proactively, prioritize urgent litigation needs, and work effectively under fast-paced deadlines

  • High attention to detail, sound judgment, professionalism, and strict client confidentiality

Candidates must have substantive, recent experience working on actively litigated civil cases. Experience limited primarily to pre-litigation case management, medical records, demands, or settlement processing will not satisfy this requirement. Candidates should be prepared to discuss specific litigation responsibilities involving pleadings, discovery, docketing, depositions, mediation, court filings, and trial preparation.
